Taking Care of Sick Loved Ones

So many people have made Cottonelle® Fresh Care* Flushable Cleansing Cloths a must-have item for their bathrooms.  As the lady of our house, I know I love them, so much so that I’ve found ways to use them go beyond the application for which they were originally intended!  For example, they are great to carry along in your purse or car for those times when you find yourself in a messy or sticky situation.   And if you or a loved one are sick or injured, they can be an essential aid to help clean and freshen up. Today I’ll be talking about that particular use, and I’ll show you how to set up a care station to help your sick or injured loved one have everything they need to get through their day. Rethink Your Hair Color This Spring

I love spring!  It is the season of renewal, and as the flowers and trees come in to bloom, we follow suit, deep cleaning and re-organizing our houses.  Spring is also the perfect time to renew and freshen up our personal style.  It’s a great time to update our wardrobes with spring colors and trends, and it’s a fun time to experiment with new makeup and hair styles!  I know I’ve seen some really cute tops that I’d love to buy, and I’m definitely due for a hair cut soon, but this spring, I’m also rethinking my hair color.  No, I’m not planning on going blonde or turning in to a red head; I LOVE being a brunette!  But I am going to experiment this spring with John Frieda Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter™  hair products. Simplify Your Spring Cleaning

Over the last couple of week’s we’ve been discussing spring cleaning.  This is a time when we go above and beyond our usual chores and take the time to make our home our castle!  Today I’m specifically going to focus on how to simplify your spring cleaning.  One key to simplifying is to make sure that you maintain a clean home everyday.  To help you do this, I have a free printable checklist for you.  Then I’ll have some product recommendations and tips to help you get your spring cleaning chores done.

Let’s start with the checklist. It includes a lot of little things you can do each day that will go a LONG way toward keeping your house clean so that you can avoid a lot of the stress that comes with a messy and cluttered house, and it can also help you to avoid what I like to call “marathon cleaning.” [Read more…]

Sharing a Sweet Future with Truvía®

Disclosure:  Today’s post is brought to you in partnership with Truvía® brand. All opinions are my own.

World Food

Back in 2014, I had the opportunity to learn about “Sharing a Sweet Future,” and I shared it with my readers here on the blog and social media.  I enjoy sharing stories like this, because I think it’s great to see companies doing charitable work, and of course, I always welcome the chance to partner with a program that is help children.

Sharing a Sweet Future is a three-year partnership between Truvía® and the United Nations World Food Programme.  The initiative began in 2012 with a goal to fight hunger in Bolivia, and child hunger in particular.

Why Bolivia?  Bolivia was chosen because nearly 40 percent of its population cannot afford adequate food and 65 percent of all rural households cannot afford the minimum recommended caloric intake. [Read more…]

Friday Favorites – Week 315 – With DIY Projects

Hello everyone! Welcome to this week’s Friday Favorites party!  I’m a little late this evening and normally when I’m late, it’s because I’ve had a busy work week or had a lot going on at home, but tonight, it comes down to one simple reason…I HAD to watch the finale of American Idol! Haha!  It’s one of the only shows I watch on a regular basis, and I’ve been a fan since the beginning.  I’m sad to see it go, but it was an amazing show tonight.  Getting excited about seeing my favorite contestants from the past made me feel like a teenager!  Haha!  Anyway…that’s what I’ve been up to this evening!  Now let’s see what everyone else is up to!

First off, we have some great DIY projects: We have jewelry storage, an upcycle project, and a little bit of carpentry work!  What a great mix!

And then as always, we have a little linky which I would LOVE for you to add your recipe and project links to!

Cats in Motion: Top Tips for Road Trips With Your Fussy and Furry Feline

Sugar Window

Traveling with a cat is a totally different experience than with a dog or some other pet. Here are several tips to keep your sanity and make the trip with your feline friend.

Get Your Vet’s Approval

Before you head out on a long trip, talk to your vet. Make sure that kitty doesn’t need any shots or that he or she is OK to travel. A basic checkup will put your mind at ease and possibly make the cat’s live easier too.

If your cat is older, you’ll want to start sensitizing him or her to the trip by making sure that he’s comfortable being in and around vehicles.

Cats don’t always like cars.

Start them as young as you can, and you shouldn’t have too many problems. For a brief time, a kitten is pretty open to experiencing new things. But, that period is pretty limited. After about 7 weeks, cats start to become set in their ways.

One thing you can do to protect your seats is to get a cover from ShearComfort.com. It will catch any hair that your cat starts to shed out of anxiety or stress. It will also give kitty something to claw that’s not your seats. [Read more…]
