Blogging with Advowire

As a blogger, I’m always looking for new companies to connect and work with.  Having said that, anytime the subject of blogging comes up in conversation, I am always asked how you make money doing it and how you connect with companies.  This can be a hard question to answer, especially if you are talking to someone who is unfamiliar with the concepts of blogging and online marketing. I’m so happy things are finally warming up around here. That means it’s time for warm weather desserts, especially ice cream, shakes, and other frozen delights! In anticipation of the hot summer months, I’m featuring 5 COOL Drinks!

Guest Post Opportunity!!  Speaking of the hot summer weather, last year I hosted a series of guest posts featuring summer recipes from our bloggy friends, and I’d love to continue that tradition this year!  Your summer recipe could be a dessert (ice cream, pies, cakes, etc.) but it doesn’t have to be.  Summer salads, barbecue recipes, and anything else summer related is also welcome.  If you would like to be a part of my summer recipe series, please send an email to simplysweethome@hotmail.com and I’ll be sure to add you to my invite list! Laundry Simplified with Purex No Sort

Purex No Sort

If you’ve been a regular visitor to my blog and checked out my product reviews, you know that I am fan and user of Purex laundry products.  Their detergent and fabric softeners do a great job keeping our clothes clean and fresh, and they smell great too.  And they are also way more affordable compared to the other leading brands.  One of the newest products from Purex is Purex No Sort.  This product is exactly what it sounds like.  It allows you to wash a load of clothes in any color without worrying about the colors fading on one another.

How does it work, you say? The detergent features a breakthrough Anti-Color-Transfer Technology™ which traps loose dyes in the wash and reduces color bleeding accidents in your mixed color loads leaving your clothes bright and clean.

The product has a nice, clean scent, and I think it did a great job on the clothes.  I also love the concept of the product.  In my household, my clothes are already basically presorted before the wash.  I have a hamper for towels, a separate hamper for each person, and a small bin for whites.  From there, I tend to wash the nicer clothes (blouses, dress shirts, and dress pants) on gentle cycle, separate from other clothes like jeans or pajamas which go on the ultra clean cycle.

Still even with this organized sorting method, I sometimes have to separate the laundry further if I have a new red shirt or some black items that I don’t want to put in with the lighter colors, so I think the detergent could come in handy for me, as it could mean less smaller loads to wash.

And I especially think the product would come in handy for people who are in a hurry and don’t have time to separate laundry, let alone wait for everything to wash in separate.  And it would be like a blessing to those who have one or two hampers, where everything is all thrown in together.

So if you want to simplify your laundry routine, I recommend trying Purex No Sort.

5 Favorite Trends in Wall Decor

This spring I’ve been doing a LOT of spring cleaning and decluttering in my house. Now I’m getting ready to change up the decor a bit.  Some things I currently have my eye on include a new bedspread, rugs, curtains, and metal prints wall art.  I’d especially love some new wall art for my living room.  Since I swapped to new and recliner last year, the art I have on the wall clashes a bit with the existing furniture.  Plus, I’d love to get something new, modern, and trendy.  As I’ve been browsing for ideas and products online, I thought it would be fun to share some of the currents trends in wall decor that I love.  Whether you are looking for beautiful paintings, wall plaques, or metal art, the internet has so much to offer! Getting Ready for Gardening Season with Blooming Secrets

flower basket

Any time we can, we like to work on do it yourself projects to improve our home inside and out. But sometimes I get a little intimidated at the prospects of certain projects.  My biggest fear is that I will start a project and run in to a road block along the way.  Potential road blocks include needing more tools and materials (which means I need to spend more money),  getting in to a point in the project and finding that I don’t know what I’m doing or cannot complete the project,  or “completing” the project but finding that I didn’t get the results I was looking for.

Gardening and landscaping are projects that are quite involved and can be intimidating.  Not only do you have a lot of work to do in the hot sun while you dig in the dirt and carry heavy materials and supplies around, but at the end of the day, you are going to have something that everyone in the neighborhood will be seeing, so of course, you are hoping that it looks perfect.
