Holiday Gift Guide: Agraria Home

Agraria Candles

I usually try to wait till the week of Thanksgiving to talk Christmas and holiday gift guides, but I’ve got a lot of great items to feature (plus recipes and so many other Christmas posts coming up) that we simply have to start now, in order to get everything in.  We start today with Agraria.  They are a company based out of San Fransisco that sells great home interior items like candles and diffusers, as well as bath and body products for you.

Agraria products are great for friends and family and just about any lady on your list.  (Who doesn’t want their home or themselves to smell good?)  My mother-in-law especially loves candles, so I’ll be giving her Agraria’s Bitter Orange Candle.  Imagine a sweet orange scent with a hint of spice.  I know she will love it!

What’s sets their items apart from the competition is not only their lovely scent but also the elegant look of the products.  Your gift recipient will definitely be proud to display this gift in their home!

I’ve tried their candles and diffusers in my own home.  The diffusers are a an especially good gift and value, as the scent last a long time.  I got a diffuser several months ago, and it still has plenty of liquid and scent.

Staying Connected with Walmart’s Lowest Priced Unlimited Plans

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #Thankful4Savings #CollectiveBias

lowest priced unlimited plans

With the holidays just around the corner, everyone is looking for ways to save money on gifts as well as other household expenses.   Earlier this year we made the decision to abandon our “contract cell phones” which were costing us $150 a month, and  we started looking for pre-paid or post-pay, no-contract phones.  We did a lot of research, and Walmart Family Mobile was the winner with the lowest priced unlimited plans I’ve seen. Cleaning Up with Samsung

Samsung 01
Thanksgiving is just weeks away. Can you believe it? This year you can get your home ready for holiday party time with help from Samsung. Yes, you read that right: Samsung.  The electronics giant isn’t just about televisions and smart phones.  They also have great appliances like refrigerators and vacuums.  The Samsung Motion Sync Bagless Upright Vacuum definitely lives up to the reputation of the Samsung name. Pet Health and Introducing Our New Puppy, Shadow

Pet Health
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll find no shortage of cat and dog pictures, and I think it’s safe to say, they get their share of facetime here on the blog as well.  We definitely love our fur babies!  A few weeks ago, we adopted a new puppy.  Meet Shadow!

Shadow is a very happy puppy.  We gave her the name “Shadow” because she follows us around constantly like a shadow.  Even though she’s only been with us for a little while, we already have a ton of Shadow stories.  They include everything from Potty Training Tales to Kitty-Puppy Relations.  Let’s just say, she is definitely a handful, but we do love the newest member of our family. My Favorite Healthy Snacks from Fiber One

Fiber One Bars

After all the Halloween candy and treats, you may be longing for something healthy to add to your diet. (Or maybe you’re already ready thinking about all the holiday eating ahead); either way you can indulge in a sweet treat and still remain guilt free with Fiber One Products.

I love, love, LOVE Fiber One.  I’ve been eating their brownies for a long time, and earlier this year I tried out their Lemon Bars, which are just amazing!  What I love about the treats is that they are a low calorie food, and they are a great source of fiber, and yet, they still taste very delicious.  (And believe me, I’m picky when it comes to flavor!)

Any time I shop in the aisle that has the Fiber One bars and snacks, I’m always seeing other products to try, and last month I finally tried a few.  The three items I tried were the Chocolate Chip Cookies, Streusel Bars, and Meal Bars.  And I loved them all!

Fiber One Cookies

Because I’m such a fan of the brownies, I’ve wanted to try the cookie for a while.  As you’d expect, it’s not quite as sweet as your typical chocolate chip cookie, I think they make a very delicious, and a pretty filling snack. (Each cookie also contains 20% of your daily value of fiber!)

The streusel bars were also a big hit with me.  These were strawberry flavored with oats and brown sugar, and they are very delicious, almost like something you’d get from a pastry shop, and yet they have 20% of your daily value of fiber, are just 150 calories per bar and have 12 grams of whole grain.

And finally we have the Meal Bars.  I was very surprised at how much I liked these  These come in a few flavors, but I got the Dark Chocolate Almond.  Unlike the other Fiber One Products, they bars are bigger (about twice the size or more of the other products) and since they are a Meal Bar, I suppose they should be.  I found them to be quite yummy and very filling.  And the bars have 10 grams of protein, plus 9 grams of fiber.

Look for Fiber One Snack Bars at your local Target store.  They are located in the healthy snack aisle.

Pizza Night with Aldi

Pizza Night with Aldi

I try my best to plan out our meals for the week, but life can often throw your curve balls.  If I have a migraine or other illness, I definitely need a dinner that is a quick fix.  Or if Noah’s event schedule changes, we may find ourselves needing to make something quick or we may even find ourselves having a dinner for two.  In other cases, we may have last second company and need to make something quick for extra people.  Whatever the reason, I always try to have several easy dinner night options on hand.

In the past I’ve told you how much I love Aldi and all the great deals they have to offer on some of my favorite grocery items.  During my most recent trip, I picked up a deli pizza.  Aldi has a number of core range and special buy pizza’s from their store brand Mama Cozi. [Read more…]

Share Your Love Is A Gift Story

Love is a Gift
Blogging and social media make it so easy for us to help out worthy causes. This week I am joining MassMutal’s Love is a Gift Campaign  This campaign celebrates the people who matter most to us, while also raising funds to benefit Easter Seals.  Easter Seals is an organization that helps people with disabilities, providing information and access to services to both patients and caregivers. #LoveIsAGift

You can join us too!  All you have to do is share your story of the transformative power of love by uploading a photo of you and your loved one.  For every story shared, MassMutual will donate $1 to Easter Seals, up to $50,000.  Simply upload your story to the campaign site or on public Instagram accounts using hashtag: #LoveIsAGift.

Check out this video for more details and to see some lovely examples:

For this campaign, I’m sharing a few pictures of family:

Gary and Jerri

Of course, my hubby was the first person who came to mind when I read about this campaign.  There is so much I could write about him here, but I know if he were reading this, he would say, “Please don’t!” Haha!  Despite those potential objections,  I will say that Gary and I had to go down a long road for us be together and get to where we are now, and I think we are living proof every day that LoveisaGift.

Noah and Odie

As many of you know, I haven’t had the opportunity to have my own baby, but I love my stepson Noah as if he were my own.  His fun-loving attitude and sense of humor can always make me smile and laugh.  And as I spend my days with him, he gives me the motivation I need to be a good role model and work hard to accomplish things I want to with my blog, business and other areas of my life.

Jerri and Rebel

There’s no love as unconditional as the love we get from our pets! I can always count on my Fur Babies to put a smile on my face no matter how I’m feeling or what kind of day I’m having.  Rebel says, “I love you” every day by incessantly meowing until I pet him or sit down next to him.

Sugar and Jerri

Sugar is a little more on the quiet side.  She says, “I love you” just by snuggling up next to me or giving me a “love bite” while I’m at my computer, as if to say, “Pet now!”

And while most people wouldn’t fall for any of these tactics, I’m pretty much a sucker for them!  I adore the Fur Babies and feel their #LoveIsAGift.

Twitter Party! MassMutual is also having a #LoveIsAGift Twitter Party on Wednesday, November 5 between 8:00 am – 9:00 am PST/ 11:00 am – Noon EST.   Please note this is a completely separate event from the Easter Seals donation initiative.  Hope to see you at the party!
