Love Bird Wreath Makeover

Today I am finally getting around to sharing the wreath that I have featured in my banner! I found this cute “Lovebird Inn” wreath at the thrift store for $2!  It was a little worn, but all it really needed was some new flowers and it would be perfect for our door.

Free Printable Gift Bags and a Blog Header Tutorial from My Memories

Hello all!  Well, I got ready to do this week’s giveaway and I ran in to a slight snag, so hopefully I have that up later today or in the next day or two!

In the meantime, I’ve got some My Memories  Freebies and a tutorial for you today! And as always, you can save $10 on their Suite v3 Software by using my coupon code: STMMMS63042.

And today we’ve got two great examples of that.

Easy Mod Podge Canister

As I went to work on my post for the Ultimate Blog Party that’s happening later this week, I added a collage photo which included a picture of this canister, BUT when I went to find a link to the post where I shared the canister, I didn’t find it. WHAT? That’s weird! I have the pictures of the canister filed under “Projects Already Posted.”  Could I have possibly made a mistake and mis-filed it, thinking I’d posted it, when I hadn’t?  I must be getting old! Haha!

So anyway here is a sort of  impromptu tutorial for this mod podge canister!

Grape and Berry Garland

Photobucket
In a previous post some months ago, I mentioned that our kitchen had a bit of an identity crisis. Since then I’ve gotten it a little more “together.” I’ve went with predominately red accessories, except above the cabinets where the majority of my antiques and things were blues and tans.

But after I decided to go with reds, my awesome mom brought me a whole box of grape garland. It was really pretty, so I just had to use it, but I also wanted to add some red elements to bring the top of the cabinets together with the rest of the space. So today I’m sharing my solution!

Photobucket

The garland originally looked like this (picture above). And what I did was use a piece of red berry garland that I already had and just add little bits and pieces of it throughout the garland strand. (Sorry I didn’t get a picture of the berry garland, but I have a feeling you’ll see, as I was able to the berries in a couple of projects.)

Photobucket

And for my particular project I used wire cutters to cut off individual sprigs of the berry garland and then wrapped them around the grape garland.  No hot glue or anything else was necessary, so it was really easy and painless!

Craft Organizing Ideas

Kids Art Studio eclectic kids

Have you visited Houzz? It’s a place where design experts share off their portfolios in design, decor, and remodels, and it’s a great place for homeowners and design enthusiasts to go look for designers in their area or look for ideas and products for their own interior design.

If you’re thinking of starting a new home decor project, or if you just like looking at other people’s photos and ideas, you can sign up at the site, and add your favorite photos to your own idea book so that you can come back and look at them any time!

They have design ideas for every room in the house as well as the exterior, but I decided to check out their ideas for craft organizing!

I’m always dreaming of new ways to organize and store my jewelry and craft making supplies and Houzz has ideas ranging from the most simple and “shoe string” budget ideas to the more elaborate and pricey.

For an example of the simple, I love these jars featuring chalk board labels. They’re simple and cute. (And chalk board stuff is very popular right now!)

Cubby Organizer - Weathered White eclectic bookcases cabinets and computer armoires

I also love this cubby organizer. I like the idea of using different slots for you items.  This is also great for someone like me because it goes up on the wall. And I also love the vintage appeal!

And here’s another wall organizer. I love how versatile this rack is! As you can see she has a place for everything from spools of ribbon to scissors, paint brushes, and even jars filled with supplies! Printing labels on rhino label rolls can give everything a specific place to be kept too!

And here’s a great idea for turning a walk in closet  into a craft storage haven.

And here’s a great work space! Doesn’t it look cozy?  I would love to have my desk surrounded by all these great organizers! I also love her little corner shelf that’s filled with rubber stamps!

And I just love this room! It’s looks so chic and very clean, especially for a craft room! I also love the colors and the great storage options.
