12 Favorite Posts from 2018

It’s that time of year! Time to look back on our year and see how things went as we prepare for the next year. I always like to look back and then share some of my favorite posts for the year. This year has been very busy for me at home, and I haven’t done nearly as much writing as I normally have in past years, but I still managed to find 12 posts that I thought were worth sharing again for this year end post!  We have a few recipes, cleaning posts, health, fashion, and even a pet post.  I hope you enjoy!

25 Delicious Must-Make Recipes from 2014

25 Delicious Must-Make Recipes

Happy New Year! (Again!)  As a blogger, it seems to have become quite customary to take the interim period between Christmas and New Year’s Day to look back over the year’s work and then re-share some of the highlights.  So I’ve been looking back at everything over the last few days, and today I have a fun round-up of posts for you: my 25 Delicious Must-Make Recipes from 2014!

I can honestly say that I enjoyed making and EATING all of these, so I hope you will check them out and decide to make few of these for yourself (especially the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes….just saying!)

And as always, I welcome your comments on this and any of the recipe posts featured here, especially on my photos.  In 2014, I worked on improving my photo staging and editing, but I was still limited by not having a DSLR camera (not to mention, the lighting was not always ideal!).  However, I’m really proud of the improvements I was able to make throughout the year, and I am super excited because I….I mean, Santa, just got me a DSLR camera for Christmas, so I cannot wait to make things look even better here in 2015!  [Read more…]

Favorite Foods of 2011

Looking back over 2011, we had many noteworthy (perhaps even pin-worthy) food posts. Oddly enough, one of my most viewed recipes was my alfredo. It was actually posted in 2010, but since it’s obviously popular, so today I’m featuring it, as I take a look back at some of my favorite food posts from last year!
Hope you enjoy my picks!  Happy New Year! And I hope you’ll join me as we discover more delicious recipes in 2012!

SSH’s Best of 2010: Food

Hi everyone!  Hope you’re enjoying the new year so far!  I think it’s no secret to anyone that food is my favorite thing to post about here at Simply Sweet Home, and I’m so excited every week to get your comments on my recipes. For this week, instead of posting a new recipe, I am revisiting some of my favorite foods that I shared with you on my blog in 2010.  Hopefully you’ll enjoy them just as much the second time around and maybe even catch something that you might have missed the first time!
Happy Baking in 2011!

SSH’s Best in 2010: Projects

At the end of each year I like to revisit my posts from the year and highlight some of my favorites. I’ve never been a really crafty person, but this year I began trying my hand at Mod Podge and some other craft projects. Today we take a look at some of the things that I made throughout the year.

Next week I’ll be sharing Best in 2010: Food, so please come back and check it out!
I’m linking up this week to these linky parties.

No-Go BlogHer Blog Hop

NoGoBlogHer

I got the memo this week that there’s a little blog conference going on this weekend called Blogher. lol.  For me, going to this conference (or any other conference) this year is just a monetary impossibility!  I was talking to my husband about it, and he said he’d make it his goal to get the money for me to go to a future conference because he knows how much I love blogging. (He’s such a sweety!)
But even then, I don’t know for sure that I would go because I’m ulta-shy!  Ordinarily I’m shy even just being around one or two people I don’t very well (or at all), and going to a conference would definitely put me on edge! I know a lot of people are anxious or intimidated by conferences, but I’d probably have a panic attack! Seriously!  But who knows, I may get up my courage and attend one—one day. I know it would be a great experience if I would just relax!
Till then, I decided to participate in the No-Go BlogHer Blog Hop over at To Be Thode and Musings of a Marfan Mom.  Not only is it free, but it’s nothing to stress over!  And they’re giving away prizes too!
If you’re visiting from the bloghop, welcome to my blog!  Please take a moment to sign up for my latest giveaways! (Links can be found at the top!) And if you like what you see here at Simply Sweet Home, I’d love for you to be my newest follower!
For this bloghop, we are to answer the following questions:
1.When did you start blogging?  I started blogging in October of 2007.
2.Why did you start blogging?  I’ve always loved writing, and I thought blogging was such a great creative outlet, and a fantastic way to share ideas and find community.  When I started blogging, I was a newlywed.  I was living 6 hours away from my hometown  and had nobody to talk to (except my husband).  But I loved being a new wife, and I loved everything that went along with that (cooking, grocery shopping, decorating the house, etc.)  So I decided to start Simply Sweet Home.
3.What is one thing you are going to do this week that is WAY cooler than going to BlogHer?  I’ll be spending this weekend with my husband. (I kinda like that guy just a little bit!) Actually he’s going out of town next week, so I’m really glad that I get to spend this time with him before his trip.  We also have a cookout with our Sunday school class tomorrow.  And of course, I get to spend time with my baby cats!
4. Share a post that you think says a lot about you or is your favorite. Here’s a few!

Thanks for stopping by!
