Snuggle Island Collection + 3 Organization Tips for Clothes

Snuggle Island Collection

A new school year means clothes have to be washed and ready at all times!  And I always like to make sure I send our son off to school looking good and hopefully smelling good.  This fall I’m keeping his clothes clean and fresh with Snuggle!

Snuggle has a new Island Collection that I LOVE! The scent is called Island Hibiscus, and it’s very easy for you to find in store, because of its bright blue bottle featuring lovely island flowers.

The scent is available in three different products:  scent boosters, liquid fabric softener, and dryer sheets.

And when you use the three products together, you will freshen, soften, and control static in your laundry. (The more, the snugglier!)

Apart from keeping things clean and ready to go, I HAVE to have our clothes organized.  Here are three tips I live by:

All Free Clear Products

Don’t you just love doing laundry?  As far as chores go, I think laundry is something that you either love or hate.  I actually don’t mind it most of the time.  First of all, it’s a chore that you can actually see noticeable results from; I love nothing more than to pull a fresh load of nice clean clothes from the dryer and then restock the drawers and closets around the house.  Something about it makes me feel warms inside.  Secondly I’ve got a pretty good system down when it comes to doing laundry, and my system and the way all the clothes are already pre-sorted for me, just makes the whole chore pretty easy!  In fact, laundry is the one chore with which I absolutely want NO HELP from my husband. (No offense to him or any one else; I just have certain ways I like to do things!) [Read more…]

all® free clear – A Hypoallergenic Laundry Solution

All Free and Clear

Having clean clothes is very important to me. (I suppose it is important to everyone, right?)  If you or members of your family suffer from allergies or have sensitive skin, you may find yourself performing a balancing act between clean clothes and a healthy, happy family.  If you are doing this balancing act, you can turn to all® free clear. They offer a laundry detergent, as well as fabric softener, and dryer sheets.  It’s everything you need for fresh, clean laundry, without the dyes and perfumes that can be harsh to your skin.

all® free clear is the #1 recommended detergent brand by Dermatologists Allergists and Pediatricians for sensitive skin. It’s tough on stains yet gentle enough for the whole family. Plus, it’s safe for use in standard and HE machines. It rinses clean and has a gentle, hypoallergenic formula. Powerful Clean. Gentle on Skin®.

Before using this detergent, I was considered a dirty smell might linger within the clothes, but I’m happy to report that all does great job of lifting stains and odors.

Traditionally I like products with a nice, clean scent, but I like all® free clear for certain jobs.  It’s perfect for baby clothes.  I also like using it for our towels, bedsheets and bedspreads. And it’s a great product for lingerie and anything else you’d prefer to remain unscented.

I’d definitely recommend all® free clear to anyone looking for a more gentle, hypoallergenic detergent and anyone who prefers unscented products for their clothes.

All Mighty Pacs Detergent Plus 5 Laundry Tips

5 Laundry Tips

I’ve been spending the first week of my new year getting my house in order and cleaning from top to bottom. I’m very happy with the progress I’ve made, and one of my goals this year to get back to the basics of maintaining a clean home, so I can avoid these “extreme clean-a-thons.”  It’s not always easy with a family, pets, and my schedule, but I’m up for the challenge. One chore that I never seem to get woefully behind on is laundry; perhaps because it’s pretty much unavoidable and can’t be skipped.  Here are just a few things that help me get this hugely important chore done!

Fighting Stains with OxiClean: Review & Giveaway

OxiClean Giveaway

A week or two ago, I started going through clothes for my upcoming, and much anticipated yard sale, and I also rearranged all my closets and drawers, putting away winter clothes, and getting those spring and summer clothes organized and accessible.  Whenever I do my semi-annual clothes clean ups, I usually find there are a few things that need to be thrown in the washer for a little freshening up.  Enter OxiClean!

I’ve been seeing OxiClean advertised on television for years, but I only just recently tried one of their products.  The company has a number of powdered and liquid detergents for clothing and dish washing.  In my case, I tried the White Revive Laundry Stain Remover.

The product comes in a small 3 pound tub, which is enough for 45 loads.  As you can imagine from the name, it is especially designed to remove stains and keep your whites bright.  But unlike other whitening products, the OxiClean is chlorine free, has no harsh odors, and is safe to use on colored clothes.  And it is also dye and scent free, which means it is safe to use on baby clothes and on items for people with sensitive skin and allergies.

Personally I was happy with the results I got from this detergent.  It did a great job of cleaning the clothes.  Plus, I know a lot of people don’t like the fruity or flowery smells that go along with other detergents, so if you are one of those people, this detergent would certainly be to your liking in that regard.

Giveaway! One Simply Sweet Home reader will win a box of OxiClean detergent.

Laundry Simplified with Purex No Sort

Purex No Sort

If you’ve been a regular visitor to my blog and checked out my product reviews, you know that I am fan and user of Purex laundry products.  Their detergent and fabric softeners do a great job keeping our clothes clean and fresh, and they smell great too.  And they are also way more affordable compared to the other leading brands.  One of the newest products from Purex is Purex No Sort.  This product is exactly what it sounds like.  It allows you to wash a load of clothes in any color without worrying about the colors fading on one another.

How does it work, you say? The detergent features a breakthrough Anti-Color-Transfer Technology™ which traps loose dyes in the wash and reduces color bleeding accidents in your mixed color loads leaving your clothes bright and clean.

The product has a nice, clean scent, and I think it did a great job on the clothes.  I also love the concept of the product.  In my household, my clothes are already basically presorted before the wash.  I have a hamper for towels, a separate hamper for each person, and a small bin for whites.  From there, I tend to wash the nicer clothes (blouses, dress shirts, and dress pants) on gentle cycle, separate from other clothes like jeans or pajamas which go on the ultra clean cycle.

Still even with this organized sorting method, I sometimes have to separate the laundry further if I have a new red shirt or some black items that I don’t want to put in with the lighter colors, so I think the detergent could come in handy for me, as it could mean less smaller loads to wash.

And I especially think the product would come in handy for people who are in a hurry and don’t have time to separate laundry, let alone wait for everything to wash in separate.  And it would be like a blessing to those who have one or two hampers, where everything is all thrown in together.

So if you want to simplify your laundry routine, I recommend trying Purex No Sort.
