Healthy Snacks with Arnold® Healthfull® Bread Challenge & a Giveaway

Arnold Healthfull Bread Giveaway

Every day we struggle to adopt healthy living standards, but it’s actually amazing how easy it can be if you just take baby steps!  One very important baby step (and giant leap) you can take is switching your white bread to a 100% Whole Wheat Bread like Arnold® Healthfull® Bread.

I was recently challenged to try Arnold Healthfull Bread.  I took up the challenge because I’ve always try to convert my husband to whole wheat bread.  Anytime you’re at risk or diagnosed with heart disease, diabetes, or obesity, one of the first things doctors say is to cut sugar out of your diet, including the sugar in white bread and to start eating whole grains.  While hubby and I are still “relatively young” and in pretty good shape, I say it’s never too early to start trying to adopt healthy habits! Orange Julius Smoothies with Carnation Breakfast Essentials

Orange Julius Smoothies

We’ve all heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  I know I certainly feel more focused and am able to get more work done when I’ve had something to eat early in the day.  But sometimes when I first wake up, I’m just not really all that hungry, and I certainly don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking and dirtying up dishes unnecessarily…my solution to this dilemma is often Carnation Breakfast Essentials.

Carnation Breakfast Essentials

I’ve been drinking this stuff since my teen years.  It was always a great drink to take on my early morning commute to school, and it got me through many college lectures!  Back then I primarily bought the chocolate flavored and simply added it to milk, but now I love using the Carnation Breakfast Essentials as a base for shakes and smoothies.  By adding a simple ingredient or two, I’ve come up with some really yummy flavor combinations that make for a light, yet filling breakfast that any girl can enjoy. Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta

Panko Bread Crumbs

Lately I’ve been in a mood to branch out and try new recipes.  I haven’t really made anything new in a while because Noah isn’t a “try new things” kind of kid, so making something new often means making the new recipe, plus making something else for him. (And who has the time for that?) But now that school is out, that gives me a little more time to cook….in the past week I’ve had a chance to make 3 new things!  One thing I made this week was Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta.  I basically used my very popular Alfredo Recipe and added a few key ingredients like Swiss cheese, ham, and Progresso Panko Crispy Bread Crumbs.

Noah heard the name of the recipe and basically refused to try it.  (I’ve never made my Chicken Cordon Bleu for him.)  But we convinced him to try a bite, and he actually liked it.  Yay! [Read more…]
