Lamp Click: Lamps, Lighting, & More

When you are redecorating a room, the right lighting can make all the difference in the world.  In fact, just added new lighting to a room can really change things in a big.  Lamp Click is an online retailer that specializes in all types of lighting to fit your decorating and renovating needs.  They carry everything from the simplest of lamps to ceiling lights, wall lighting,  and outdoor lights.  And they also have a whole host of other home decor like clocks, vases, candleholders, wall art, and picture frames

You may enjoy the Sonneman Collection from lampclick.com.  It includes a mix of modern and contemporary lighting in both bronze and chrome finishes.  Above are just a few pieces from this collection.  My favorite is the Flute-Sconce on the bottom left.  I love its modern appeal, and I just think it’s very stlish and unique.

And then I also like the Sonneman Lighting Transitional 8 Light Heirloom 8 Light Round Pendant on the bottom right.  I think this would be great for someone who wants to dress up a room without making it too formal.

I also rather enjoyed browsing through all their table lamps. One of my favorite pieces is the Uttermost Lighting Iris Buffet Designed By Carolyn Kinder (pictured above).  I love the green and auburn glass. It is so pretty and unique.

And I also like their other home decor, especially the wall mirrors.  One in particular that I found interesting was the Fine Art Lamps Beveled Arcs Girandole.  I really like the sconces on either side, and I also like the frame around this mirror.  It sort of reminds me of the mirror on the wall from Snow White. It has a romantic yet mysterious look to, and it would definitely make a great show piece.

Head over to lamp click to check out their other selections in fine lighting and home decor!

Cabin Curtains for my Kitchen

Before I get to today’s scheduled post, I thought some of my “regulars” might have been wondering what happened to this week’s giveaway.  Yes, there will be one, but it will posted tomorrow per the sponsor’s request.  (And here’s a hint: Groceries!)

One thing I’ve worked on in our house the last few months, is making the kitchen a little more thematic and color coordinated.  At some point last year in one of my posts, I said that our kitchen was  having a bit of an identity crisis.  So I’ve done different things to make red the primary color, using apples, red checks and plaids.  Now I’ve been shopping for things like curtains and curtain blinds.

For my windows I chose: Casey’s Cabin Window Valance by JoJo Designs Red

And I have to confess, and I know I may get some strange looks or laughs for this, but they are actually nursery curtains!  I was searching for plaid curtains when I found these, and then afterward I found all the other nursery accessories! (lol)

But I decided to go with these anyway.  I liked the different  colors and patterns, and it seemed perfect for a country style kitchen!

What do you think?  Oh, and in case you’re interested in this nursery theme.  Here’s a picture of the crib and all the accessories!

Grape and Berry Garland

Photobucket
In a previous post some months ago, I mentioned that our kitchen had a bit of an identity crisis. Since then I’ve gotten it a little more “together.” I’ve went with predominately red accessories, except above the cabinets where the majority of my antiques and things were blues and tans.

But after I decided to go with reds, my awesome mom brought me a whole box of grape garland. It was really pretty, so I just had to use it, but I also wanted to add some red elements to bring the top of the cabinets together with the rest of the space. So today I’m sharing my solution!

Photobucket

The garland originally looked like this (picture above). And what I did was use a piece of red berry garland that I already had and just add little bits and pieces of it throughout the garland strand. (Sorry I didn’t get a picture of the berry garland, but I have a feeling you’ll see, as I was able to the berries in a couple of projects.)

And for my particular project I used wire cutters to cut off individual sprigs of the berry garland and then wrapped them around the grape garland.  No hot glue or anything else was necessary, so it was really easy and painless!
