Getting Spring Ready Skin

As I anticipate warmer weather coming my way, I can’t help but get excited about breaking out the capri pants, baby tees & tanks, and other spring clothing. Don’t get me wrong; I love sweater season!  But after a few months, I’m ready to show a little more skin, and I want my skin to look healthy, soft, and smooth.  I’ve never been the kind of girl who spends the day at the beauty shop or spa; it’s just not my thing!  For this reason, I look for high quality (yet affordable) products that I can use at home to help me get my beauty on!  Right now I’m using Softsoap Fresh & Glow to help my skin get spring ready! When you live with a grown man and a teenage boy, you can never have too many “smell good” products.  Our shower is always stocked with a whole host of products just for the guys!  Since it takes a lot to keep them fresh and clean, I immediately jumped at the chance to try out some products from Old Spice.

Old Spice is the manliest men’s grooming brand on the planet,  and through their Combos4Success campaign, they are informing guys that when they use Old Spice anti-perspirant and deodorant, body wash + 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner together the result is a manly, amazing, irresistible freshness from head to toes.

Old Spice has several scents available.  From their website, I chose the Pure Sport scent.  I was intrigued by the names of some of the others available (WolfThorn, LionPride, etc)  but I thought the Pure Sport would be best for my guys who just want a clean and masculine smell.  After receiving the products, I’m very happy with this choice. Do you like for your man to have a nice smooth shave?  My husband hates to shave!  And I have to admit, I sometimes actually like the “scraggles.”  I sometimes even encourage him to just grow a full beard, but he says that “it itches after a while.”  (And he doesn’t really like the greys that show up. Mary Kay cosmetics are high quality and hold up well even in the summer humidity.  I especially love the CC Cream.  On days when I don’t want to wear a lot of makeup, I’ve been wearing it like a foundation.  It gives me sheer coverage for just a quick trip to the store or a day in the sun.  And it also goes well under makeup on days when I want to look really great.  And combined with their eyeliner, mascara, mineral bronzing powders, and Pink Cherie lipstick, I get a completely glamorous look for any summer day!

Summer Health & Beauty Series: Get the Red Carpet Look + Mary Kay Giveaway

Do ever see stars on the red carpet and wish you could have their look?  Now you can!  Recently stars showed up on the Met Gala Red Carpet, sporting makeup products from Mary Kay.  Today we are looking at Emma Stone’s Natural Beauty Look and Selena Gomez’s Dramatic Beauty Look.  But instead of just showing you pictures of the ladies, I also have a rundown on the products and techniques you will need to replicate their looks.

Let’s start with Emma Stone.  I actually received a kit of all the products needed for this look.  I chose Emma’s look because we have similar skin tones, and I generally go for a more natural look when it comes to make up.  What I love about Mary Kay is that they have very high quality products that are easy to use, and they products which appeal to all age groups and styles.  Their products also look and feel good on, and they generally last and hold up for the day, which is a real plus when you are on the go.
