I’m always excited to try new beauty products! I recently learned about éclos Skin Care products. éclos features Apple Stem Cells extracted from a rare Swiss apple which have shown tremendous ability to stimulate skin stem cells, encouraging aging skin to behave like younger skin. Plant extracts, vitamins and anti-oxidants combine with the Apple Stem Cell technology to help minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and tired skin.

The products are also scented with all-natural essential oils and do not have parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, or petro-chemicals.

I received the éclos Anti-Aging Skin Care Starter Kit to review.  The starter kit sales for $19.99 and includes sample sizes of the following products:

• Restorative Eye Cream

 The Facial Cleanser Skin Prep is a gentle cleanser that you use twice a day.  I found it was very good at removing makeup, and it leaves your skin feeling clean.  The Instant Radiance Facial Scrub is to be used once daily, every other day.  It is exfoliant that helps to get rid of dead skin cells. Sometimes I have dry skin, and so I love to use a good exfoliant a couple of times a week, and this a great one.  I was also surprised to learn that the product helps to prepare your skin to absorb the other products and it enhances cell turnover and evens out your tone.

The kit also includes a Restorative Eye Cream, which will reduce fine lines and wrinkles.  I know I suffer from a lack of sleep and am concerned about aging around my eyes, so I really need to use a product like this.

The Cellular Activator Face Serum and the Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream are said to work best when pair together. You apply the Face Serum, following by the Regenerative Cream, and together nourish and revitalize skin cells, while promoting collagen production to give skin a normal youthful appearance.  I personally loved the feel of these products; they leave your skin feeling refreshed and smooth.

I think my favorite product in the kit is the Skin Renewal Clay Mask.  The product cleanses skin, absorbs
impurities, and helps unclog pores.  It also tightens pores, minimizing their appearance.  The great thing about this product for me is that you can feel it working as it sets on your skin.  And it leaves your skin feeling so refreshed!

Finally with the kit, you get a headband, which is just perfect to pull your hair back, while your apply the products!

Here’s my before and after photo. My skin feels more refreshed and smooth, and I think the products are helping to unclog pores.

Oatmeal & Brown Sugar Scrubs

As Mother’s Day draws near, not to mention the season to buy gifts for graduations, teacher gifts, and weddings, it seems like the perfect time to talk spa items!  Of course, there are a lot of websites where you can order brown sugar scrubs and other organic beauty products.  And these are fabulous, but sometimes they can be a little expensive, so if you’re on a budget, you should definitely try making your own at home!

Today I’ve got a recipe for an Oatmeal and Brown Sugar Scrub.  This is something that you can mix together in about a minute, and it makes for a really great facial and/or scrub that you can use on yourself or that you can package in a decorative jar and give as a gift. Hope you enjoy!

Covergirl NatureLuxe Review

As you may know, I love Covergirl, and I’m always excited when they come out with new products!  Today I’m sharing some information about their newest line, the NatureLuxe Collection.
When 3 out of 4 professional make-up artists would recommend the NatureLuxe Collection to their clients, you start to listen — that’s some serious support! But it’s really no surprise: COVERGIRL’s new luxury line exchanges select heavy synthetics for carefully-chosen natural ingredients. For a polished make-up look with a lightweight feel, every time, it’s what COVERGIRL likes to call “luxury touched by nature”.

This smooth silk foundation trades in a heavier emollient for a touch of cucumber water and a hint of natural jojoba and rosehip extracts. It provides a flawless coverage and a silky lightweight feel. In fact, 8 out of 10 professional make-up artists agree it provides a luxurious skin finish and light, luxurious feel!

I’m so excited about this foundation.  I’ve been using Covergirl foundations ever since I started wearing makeup.  I like the coverage that the new NatureLuxe foundation offers and thought that it looked great when applied.  But my favorite thing about the foundation is the new natural ingredients.  Anytime I find an affordable beauty product containing natural ingredients, I’m always interested in trying it.  And I’m so excited that Covergirl has made natural ingredients a part of their new line.
I also got to try the new Gloss Balm, and I really liked it.  I love that it’s a lip gloss with an SPF 15 balm, and I also love the colors available.  And my favorite thing about this product is that I found that I could wear it as a lip gloss for exta added shine over my lipstick, or I could wear the gloss alone, and it looked just as great!

CoverGirl Smoky Eye Look Review & Giveaway

I guess you could say that I’ve always been a “CoverGirl.” Since I was old enough to wear makeup I’ve always used CoverGirl products.  Over the years I’ve tried out their various liquid foundations, pressed powders, and eye makeups.  And I’m always excited to see the new products they roll out.

Recently I was given the opportunity to try out CoverGirl’s new Smoky Eye Look kits.  These kits are designed to help you create the that smoky eye look you see on all the models and actresses out there. (You know that look that appears so glamorous on hot superstars, but if you tried it, you’d look like you just lost a fist fight? Yes, that look!)

The kits come in three varieties:  Natural Look, Glamorous Look, and Bold Look.

And each kit makes it easy to create the smoky eye look with 3 products: SmokyShadowBlast, LineExact Liquid Liner Pen, and LashBlast Volume Mascara.

For the purposes of this review I received all three Smoky Eye Look Kits, along with a makeup artist chair, bag, mirror, and tips from makeup artist Molly Stern. Of the three kits, my favorite is the Natural Look.  This kit comes with the SmokyShadow Blast in Bronze Fire, LashBlast Mascara in Brown, and LineExact Liquid Liner in Brown.

When I try new makeup, I judge it based on 4 different aspects The first is how the makeup looks on me.  I was very pleased in this area.  The makeup looked very nice, with bold yet very clean, natural lines.  It looked very glamorous without being overdone, and I felt very confident wearing it.

The second I look at is how easy the makeup is to apply.  In the past I’ve had issues with eye liner not going on as easy as I would like, so I was very happy at how easy the LineExact Liquid Liner was to apply and how quickly it dried after application. Also, this was my first time to use an eye shadow that wasn’t in pressed or loose powder form, and I found myself very surprised at how easy it was to apply as well.  As for the LashBlast Volume Mascara, I was actually using this type of mascara prior to receiving these kits for review, and I’ve always been happy with its easy application.
The third thing I look at is the one I always seem to have the most trouble with. My third area is how well the makeup holds up; that is, whether it’s going to smear or rub off, and how good it’s going to look after several hours of wear. I was (and still am) very excited about how well this makeup holds up.  With most eye shadows, the look seems to rub off or fade after a while, but several hours after application I can still see the SmokyShadowBlast eye shadow very well.  And of all the things I like about the products I received, my favorite thing is how well the LineExact Liquid Liner holds up.  I’ve had so much trouble with other liners smearing and makeup having to be fixed or reapplied.  But I have not had the problem with this eye liner. In fact, I wore it to a picnic the other day in very humid, 100 degree weather, and the makeup held up perfectly! I was so happy to look in the mirror when I got home and not find racoon eyes!
Finally, being on a budget I always have to consider the price of products. And I’m happy to report that these kits sell for just $16.50 in Wal-Mart stores and at Walmart.com.  For three great products, that price is unbeatable!

I’m so happy I had this opportunity to find this fabulous looking makeup that I can be confident wearing throughout the day! If you’re out doing some back to school shopping with the kids you should pick up your own CoverGirl Smoky Eye kit!
