Guest Post: Lightweight Acrylic Beads Are Very Useful

Acrylic beads are available in many colors. Someone who is looking to make a very colorful piece of jewelry will often use these beads because they can find almost any color that they want to use in these beads. They are also very durable. A piece of jewelry that is being made for a young child will be very durable if made with these lovely beads.

Not only are they colorful and durable, but these beauties are also very lightweight. People are able to add larger pieces of jewelry without adding too much weight that it weights them down too much. This is what makes them wonderful for making earrings. A bigger earring can be created with these without pulling down on the earlobe.

Valentine Shopping at Julian & Co

Photobucket

My amazing sponsor Julian & Co has a fine selection of jewelry available for your loved ones this Valentine’s Day!  The shop is known for it’s fine, heirloom quality jewelry, especially its personalized, parent and grandparent pieces.  But it’s also a great place to shop for friends, family, teachers, and your significant other.

If you’re looking for something classic, check out their Heart of Gold Insignia necklace. This is cute and simple piece would be great for ladies of all ages, and like other jewelry at Julian & Co, you can have it personalized with names or dates on the back.

Or you can say, “I Love You” with their LOVE Insignia necklace (which also can be personalized.

And I personally love their Friendship Insignia.  This charm features the Native American symbol for friendship and peace.  Since my husband prides himself on being part American Indian, I think he would like this.

Simply Sweet Creations Valentine Jewelry Showcase

It’s been a while since I’ve showcased some items from my shop . Recently I’ve added several Valentine’s Day items, so it seems like the perfect time to do so!

I just made this charm bracelet a couple of days ago. It’s my favorite thing that I’ve made in a while!

Photobucket
And my husband says that this necklace is his favorite thing that I’ve made.  I only wish I had one of those necklace display things, so I could show it off better. (That’ll definitely be a purchase in the future, but until then, you’ll just have to take my word that it looks really cute on!)

Photobucket
And of course, I had to include some earrings

Photobucket
And another pair of earrings

Photobucket
And these aren’t necessarily a Valentine’s piece. (Although I think they’d be a great gift!)  I previously shared my Encircled Bird Necklace.  And I finally got around to listing the matching earrings.

Photobucket
And then I  just added my Love Bird Flying Free Earrings, which also have a separate, matching necklace

I also relisted a few items that I made last year that would be great Valentine’s:

BeadforLife Review – Eradicating Poverty One Bead at a Time

I recently received a cute bracelet from BeadforLife, and I’m really excited to share their jewelry and the mission of this wonderful organization with you today.

What is BeadforLife?

BeadforLife is a Colorado 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization with a wonderful mission to lift impoverished women out of poverty through their BeadCircle. On their website, you’ll find fascinating stories about their inspiring members who work in Uganda. The members are impoverished, hardworking and intelligent women with a strong desire to improve their lives. They make beautiful handcrafted paper beads from recycled paper and turn them into necklaces, bracelets and earrings, while the farmers in Otuke collect the finest quality shea nuts and press them into Shea Butter Soap and Peppermint Lip Balm, which is also sold on the BeadforLife website.

How can you help?

Make a Donation. Make a direct donation to the organization.

Make a Purchase. You can help buy purchasing jewelry and beads from the BeadforLife Store

Plus, when you host a Bead Party, you are helping BeadforLife meet their goal to raise $155,000 (enough to fund  a full year of entrepreneurial training for their members in Uganda).

Win an African Safari! Hold a BeadParty between June 1st, 2011 and September 30th, 2011 and you will be automatically entered in the Party to Safari Sweepstakes, where the GRAND PRIZE is an all expense paid trip to Uganda to meet BeadforLife’s Members and experience an amazing Safari!
Refer a Friend. No time to host a party?  Then refer others. Have your friends and family host a BeadParty and put your name in the promo code.  You will both be entered to win the grand prize! And for every 5 people you refer, you will automatically win a $50 gift certificate to BeadforLife.

Sponsor Spotlight – Julian & Co

I’m happy once again to announce Julian & Co as a sponsor on my blog.  This is a wonderful shop with a very unique line of  heirloom quality jewelry for moms, dads, and children.

These lovely pieces can be personalized with your child’s name, birthdate and time, weight, and length.  And you can even add birthstone charms!

The owner of this company is a mom named Tania, and the company is named for her son Julian who was born 11 weeks early and weighed only 3lbs 4oz.  When Tania’s husband purchased a personalized baby bracelet for Julian, and it was too big for his tiny wrist, Tania set out to design her own sterling silver id bracelet for Julian.  This was the first of many pieces in the Julian & Co line!
The  Signature line of Julian & Co  is the baby hand and feet jewelry.  So overjoyed to have Julian home, Tania handcrafted sterling silver disc pendants adorned with Julian’s own hand and feet prints, as well as his name and birth date, for her and her husband to wear. As soon as her family and friends saw Tania’s lovely creations, orders came rolling in, and the business grew from there.

Julian & Co. offers jewelry that you can have forever as a keepsake.  It is durable and heirloom quality, and most pieces have a high shine mirror finish and are thick enough to be personalized on both sides.

You can purchase these to commemorate the birth of your own child or grandchild, and they also make lovely gifts for birthdays, showers, baptisms, graduations, and more!
