Friday Favorites – Week 282 – with Apple Ideas

This week we’ve been lucky to get a lot of rain and slightly more mild temperatures. But it’s still hot! I’m ready for fall! Today I was shopping at Target, and I found some new limited edition products from Glade. The scent is called Apple Tree Picnic. I’ve purchased apple scented products before, but this scent is the best ever. Our house smells like an orchard! ANYWAY….I always associate apples with fall, and even though we’re not quite in to the season yet, I’ve got apple on the brain! So today I’m featuring some ideas featuring one of my favorite fruits: the apple! Hope you enjoy!

Caramel Apple Dumplins

Valentine’s Day is this weekend! Will you be eating something sweet with your honey? I used to love Valentine’s Day for the heart-shaped boxes of chocolates it would ultimately bring to me, but since I already have a supply of chocolate (including some left over truffles from Christmas), Valentine’s Day now puts me more in the mood for a baked delight. If you’re looking for something sweet to serve your honey this Valentine’s Day, but you don’t want to spend all day long in the kitchen, look no farther! I have the perfect recipe for you: Caramel Apple Dumplins!

This dessert is an old-time classic favorite, and it is so warm and comforting to eat during the fall and winter months. There’s nothing like hot waffles for breakfast… that soft, chewy confection with the crispy, crunchy edges drenched in butter and syrup, has always been a classic favorite of mine. And Aunt Jemima makes it so easy a kid can do it.

This weekend Noah was making home made waffle in kitchen with just the push of a button. Now that’s convenient!

These days, however, the waffle has branched out. If you stroll the internet, you’ll find waffles topped with fruit, cream cheese, peanut butter, and even chocolate! Waffles also make a great bread substitute for your bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich, breakfast casserole recipes, and more! Recently I bought some Aunt Jemima Homestyle Waffles, and they inspired me to think outside the box (literally) and recipe especially for this fall season. [Read more…]

My Fall Decor

With Halloween just around the corner (Can you believe it??), it seemed like a good time to share my fall decor. For the fall season, I find that a little goes a long way. By just adding a few items to a buffet table, fireplace, or front porch area, you can easily give your home a touch of fall.

When I was growing up, we almost always had Count Chocula at our house. Now the Count and his friends Franken Berry and Boo-Berry are back in retro, throwback packaging. You can find them now at your local Target store. And as if the cereals weren’t great enough, there are also snacks featuring your favorite Halloween cereal characters. Halloween Fruit Cup

Today I have a super easy treat that’s also healthy, yet festive for the fall season! This Halloween Fruit Cup is made using the little fruit cups you get from the store. You could also use fruit from a can, frozen, or even fresh fruit, but the little fruit cups work great for a single serve dessert without any measuring. 15 Fall Subway Art Printables

I feel like I’m a little late to the party with this post, since everyone started sharing their fall decor a month ago, but I was doing my fall decorating last weekend (decor post still to come), and I decided to go online and get a free printable to frame for my living room. When I started searching, I was overwhelmed by all the cuteness I saw, so I decided to throw together a post with some of my favorites!

I have to confess, I did recycle the 5 at the bottom from a previous post I did, to get 15 for this post! The five I shared a couple of years ago were so cute, I thought they were worth a second look, and I like having all of these in one place just for my own convenience, and I’m sure it’s better for you too.
