With springtime right around the corner, it is time to start thinking about chores for spring cleaning. And while you’re planning these projects, it is also a good time to take a look at your home decor and consider some new items and improvements in this area. I’m not talking about weekend long projects or anything high budget (although it can be a great time for that too!). Instead I’m talking about small, simple improvements such as replacing your own accent rugs for new ones, or getting new curtains, wall art, or throw pillows. Or you may just want to declutter a room and do a little rearranging to change the look of things. [Read more…]

Take Control of Your Finances with Kmart’s Share the Word
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kmart Share the Word for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
If you’ve ever felt that you weren’t in control of your finances, you are not alone! Whether you are dealing with unexpected emergency expenses, a job loss, or just your average monthly bills and family essentials, it can be a struggle to keep up and control keep in control of your financial situation.
If you have financial difficulties or struggle with budgeting for your family, Kmart is here to help with their new Share the Word Financial Empowerment Platform. The platform was created in honor of Black History Month, and it was created in order to provide valuable resources to help Kmart customers.
For this program Kmart has teamed up with Glinda Bridgforth. She is the author of Girl, Get Your Money Straight! and the program is offering a free dowloadable family finance e-guide, created by Bridgforth. Within th guide you will find family budget and savings advice, as well as money saving tips and usefu templates.
Do you have any finacial tips of your own?
If I had to give a few financial tips, I would tell people to set aside a little money each week for an emergency fund.
Also, examine your current spending and try to find where you can make cuts. (This could entail anything from cancelling a few movie channels, swapping to a cheaper cell phone service, or just swapping out a few name brand products for generic ones.)
I also like to make shopping lists and a shopping budget, and I try my best to stick to the list, and avoid impulse purchases as much as possible. This takes a lot of discipline, but it can really help you to stay within your budget.
For more financial tips, I encourage you to check out the Share the Word platform on Kmart.com.

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Jimmy Dean, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #RedboxBreakfast http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.
I love breakfast! It is actually one of my favorite meals to eat, but I’m not a fan of getting up to make it, when I’m in a hurry, I have to go with something quick and simple. (Cereal, anyone?) Luckily Jimmy Dean has come to the rescue with their Red Box Breakfasts! With this great line of products, you can serve up hot, delicious meals at breakfast time in as little as 5 minutes!
The Red Box Breakfast line includes of variety of sandwiches and breakfast bowls. They include (but are not limited to):
- Jimmy Dean Meat Lover’s Breakfast Bowl
- Jimmy Dean Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches
- Jimmy Dean Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Muffin Sandwiches
- Jimmy Dean Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit Sandwiches
I LOVE Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwiches. I usually buy their Bacon, Egg, and Cheese or their Ham & Cheese Croissants, but I’ve also tried their Sausage Biscuits, Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit, and their Chicken Biscuits. All of these have been just great! They taste delicious, and you get a good amount of servings for the price.
But for this review, I decided to go with something a little different; the Jimmy Dean Meat Lover’s Breakfast Bowl!
I had always been curious about trying the Breakfast Bowls, and I’m so glad that I finally did! I seriously could not believe out good the Meat Lover’s Bowl is!
This bowl comes packed with scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and cheese! So hearty and very filling! Not to mention, Yummy!
The serving size is also great. I believe it is perfect for one person. I got plenty to eat and found it very satisfying! Not to mention, that each bite is filled with flavor, so much that you will have no problem cleaning your bowl:
The only problem is that you’re going to want another one tomorrow, so you better stock up!
The Meat Lover’s Breakfast Bowl from Jimmy Dean is available in the frozen breakfast section at your local Wal-Mart. And each breakfast bowl is around $3. This is a really great value!

Say Good Morning with Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Honey Bunches of Oats for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you have trouble waking up and getting a move on? Do you love Honey Bunches of Oats? Now you can kick start your morning with Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy.
The new cereal is available in two great-tasting flavors: Cinnamon Crunch and Chocolately Almond Crunch.
It's made of whole grain flakes and granola cluster and it is packed with protein and fiber. The cereal not only gives you a good, healthy start to your day, but it is filling and great for putting a stop to mid-morning hunger.

I really like the new cereals. I like that it is a healthy cereal but still tastes great! I also love that they made both chocolate and cinnamon flavors. These flavors make it so the cereal can appeal to all ages and all sorts of people, including kids.
Personally I love the Cinnamon Swirl flavor. The cinnamon flavor goes perfect with the flakes and oat clusters. On top of this I also added a little sugar, and it complimented it perfectly! I'd definitely recommend it to cinnamon lovers!
And then I also think a lot of people would love the Chocolately Almond Crunch. For one thing, who doesn't love a little chocolate? And the great thing about this cereal, is that you can eat chocolate and be guilt-free about it.

DG Clover Valley Crock Pot Recipe Challenge: Chicken Tortilla Soup
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
The crock pot can be like your best friend when it comes to creating easy, homecooked meals. It is super easy to use; generally you just throw everything together with very little prep, and it's very easy to make a meal out of just about anything you have in your pantry. And if you live near a Dollar General, you can get all your crock pot ingredients in one place and save a lot of money at the same time!
I love using the crock pot to make soups and stews, so when I was asked to join the DG Clover Valley Crock Pot Recipe Challenged, I knew I wanted to make a soup. I decided to make my Chicken Tortilla Soup, because it's great recipe for the winter time. It's comfort food, and it's also a little spicy.
My recipe is super easy, and I was able to get all the can goods in the Clover Valley brand available at Dollar General. Hope you will try the recipe!
Recipe for Chicken Tortilla Soup:
Ingredients:
2 Cans Clover Valley Chunk Chicken
1 Can Clover Valley Whole Kernel Corn (drained)
1 Can Clover Valley Black Beans (drained)
3 Teaspoons Chili Power (add more if desired)
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Fritos or Tortilla Chips
Sour Cream
Directions: Drain one can of black beans and one can of whole kernel corn. Pour in to crock pot.
Add canned chicken. Do NOT drain the chicken, as the juice will serve as the broth for your soup. Use a spoon or fork to break up any large chunks of chicken, or if desired, break up the chicken before adding to the crock pot.
Add chili powder. Stir all ingredients. Add additional chili powder if you'd like an extra spicy soup. Heat crock pot on low for a couple of hours or on high for about an hour or until heated through. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Serve over Fritos or tortilla chips. Top with cheese and sour cream if desired.
Not spicy enough for you? Check your local Dollar General for canned tomatoes, peppers, and other ingredients, to make this recipe your own.
Visit the Dollar General website to find more Dollar General easy meals. You can also follow along on Facebook and on Twitter for product information and promotional updates.
