My Thoughts:
As someone who loves DIY and craft projects, I think the Soap themed box is a fun idea. It is also a great time of year to have this theme, because some of the recipes could be great for homemade gifts. (Not to mention, there’s the dreaded cold and flu season to be ready for, and some homemade soaps could come in handy.)
Of the oils included this time, the Winter Spice Blend is my favorite; it has a nice citrus smell and is included in some great recipes. I also like the Bergamot oil; it is not an oil I’ve used a lot, but I find it to be kind of citrusy as well, so I’m looking forward to using it more!
In fact, this month’s box has recipes that utilize 3 oils I don’t typically use (Bergamot, Cedarwood, and Cinnamon). If you’ve read my previous reviews, you know that I LOVE the roll on recipes, and this box has a Calming Orange Grove Roll On recipe that includes the Bergamot and Cedarwood. That sounds right up my alley!
As for the soaps, there is a great variety. The most interesting recipe for me is probably the Soap Jellies; I read that it is a good recipe for kids, so that might be something I’ll do with my son. There’s also a Cocoa Marble Soap recipe. I think my son would be amazed at the idea of using cocoa to make soap, so that’s another I’d like to do with him.
But I think my favorite recipe this time around is the Orange Grove Exfoliating Soap. I just love anything with orange or citrus scents, and I enjoy exfoliating soaps, so this is a recipe that I’d find both fun and useful.
