Kleenex – An Allergy Season Must Have + 12 Allergy Season Tips

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Kleenex but all my opinions are my own. #KleenexAllergy #pmedia  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

If your family is like mine, since the start of October you’ve been hearing a lot of the following sounds:  “Sneeze. Sneeze. Cough. Sniffle.  Sniffle.”  This means allergy season is in full swing!  The weather here has just started to cool down and change in the last couple of weeks, and since then we’ve been starting to experience seasonal allergy and cold symptoms. I try to avoid the cool weather all together to keep myself well, but when you have men working outside and kids doing outdoor activities, not mention all the outdoor fall events going on, it doesn’t exactly help to combat the problem.

For this reason, I like to have plenty of Kleenex on hand.  Their products are a great value, coming in 2-ply and 3-ply sheets, and they are very soft to the touch.  Kleenex also has very stylish packaging if you’re looking for something to blend in with your home decor.

I recently made a trip to Target to stock up on Kleenex products.  They have individual boxes as well as multiple pack boxes so that you can have a box for every room or just stock up for the winter, and they also have pocket packs, which are perfect for when your on-the-go.

Sick Supplies Table

Today I’m sharing a few tips on how you can help your family to fight allergy season this year.

1. Keep bedding and carpets cleaned regularly.

2.  Keep air filters changed out every 6 weeks (or even more often if you have pets or other potential allergens).

3. Take over-the-counter antihistamines.

4. Drink plenty of fluids, including water and juices that are high in vitamin C.

5.  Drink hot chicken broth or eat chicken soup.

6. Drink herbal teas such as ginger tea, peppermint tea, green tea, chamomile, or tea with honey.

7. Irrigate the nasal passages with a neti pot or other saline product.

8.  Take an NSAID or other pain relief product for headaches associated with allergies and sinus pressure.

9.  Take hot showers or a hot bath, or drape a towel over your head and sit over a bowl of hot boiling water or a vaporizer.

10. Brush and bathe pets regularly and clean litter box to limit pet allergens.

11.  Take multivitamins and other anti-allergy supplements, recommended by your doctor.

12. Avoid smoke, fumes, air pollution, and other things that cause your allergies to flare up.
