Guest Post: White Hot Chocolate Cookies by Kathleen at Yummy Crumble

As the weather cools down and I start to see Christmas decorations I also begin to crave those special holiday drinks. Especially hot chocolate. Oh, my beloved hot chocolate. But…Since I live in Florida where the low in December is 75 degrees, I rarely get to sip on my favorite hot drink. So in order to have my hot chocolate everyday, I put them in cookie form! M&M’s Sugar Cookies Inspired by Captain America

Parties and holidays give us a great excuse to get creative with decorations and food.  But you don’t always need a special occasion to create fun and festive recipes! If you have simple ingredients on hand like M&M’s™ candies, you can turn a simple movie night into a fun-filled occasion with movie themed snacks.  Last week I used M&M’s to turn some plain ole’ sugar cookies in to some M&M’s Sugar Cookies inspired by Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier (out now on DVD and Blu-Ray).

At our local Walmart there is an entire shelf, filled from top to bottom with M&M’s products!  Which ones doe you like?  The original and the minis are my favorites, but you could use any variety in today’s recipe.

Upscale Magic Bars

My Grandma Shirley gave me a recipe years ago for “Hello Dolly” cookie bars.

I decided to tweak it and make it a bit upscale for a delightful treat.

Toasting the nuts and the coconut brings out a wonderful flavor that changes these bars from good to fabulous!

White Chocolate Chip Pink Lemonade Bars and the Pillsbury #BakeOff

Do you love to bake? Pillsbury is hosting their 47th Annual Bake-Off Contest. Now through May 8, you can enter your recipes for the chance to win $1 million!   Visit their website to learn more about the contest categories, sponsoring brands, and rules.

I love to bake, and I was very excited when the folks at Pillsbury sent me a box of baking supplies, complete with Watkins Vanilla, Pillsbury Flour, Reynolds cupcake liners, foil, parchment paper, and more!  In conjunction with the Pillsbury Bake-Off, and the celebration of spring, I decided to make some White Chocolate Chip Pink Lemonade Bars!

These bars are sweet and delicious!  Their lemon flavor and lovely pink color make them a perfect spring treat, and they are also very easy to make, using just a few ingredients, including Pillsbury Pink Lemonade Cake Mix!  Hope you enjoy! [Read more…]
