The spring season is almost here, but in a lot of places, you’d never know it. Here in the South we’ve actually had a very warm winter, but over the last couple of week’s we have some unseasonably cold temperatures. Needless to say, everyone is ready to pack up the sweaters and coats and bring out that spring wardrobe. Today I’m going to share 5 spring fashion trends you should be on the look out for.
Athleisure Wear – Yoga pants and athletic wear have been trendy for a while. And now thanks to companies like Fabletics, the trend may be here to stay. Now yoga pants and leggings aren’t just for home or the gym. Now you can pair them with a cute top and wear them to the store, a restaurant and even the office.
I love this trend because it combines style with comfort. It also adds a lot of versatility to your wardrobe, as you can use one athleisure outfit for multiple purposes and occasions.
Off-the-shoulder – Off-the-shoulder tops and dresses are fun and flirty. You can wear them to the park or other outdoor events to get a look that’s fun, but feels airy and comfortable. Or pair your off-the-shoulder top or dress with some cute high heels, and you’ve got a great look for a fun night out on the town.
Ankle Pants – Ankle pants and capris are still in style. Of course, we all need our denims, khakis, and black pants, but any time you can add color to wardrobe, that is a plus, and this year the store racks are all about the color! Look for bright blues, cute pinks, and sweet shades of purple. And don’t be afraid to branch out and pick up some ankle pants featuring bold patterns. This is another great look with much versatility that gives you the best of style and comfort. Wear these to the mall or out to lunch, or even coordinate with the perfect top and shoes for a cute business casual look for the office.
Embroidery, Lace, and Fun Patterns – From tank tops to tunics, the bohemian chic look continues to be popular. Bright colors and bold patterns are accentuated with gorgeous lace and embroidery. Pair these tops with a pair of jeans, capris or shorts for the ultimate fun spring look.
Dresses – After being covered in coats and slacks all winter long, there is nothing more liberating than going out in a new spring dress. A sexy cocktail dress can really make a statement at your class reunion or big office party. But there are also many styles that work for more casual settings. I love the look of this “fit & flare” dress shown here; not only do I love the style, but I can see this being worn for a number of events and occasions. Spring is also the unofficial start of prom seasons. While I’ve been out of school for a little while now, I still get giddy seeing all the prom attire on display. This year’s dresses were beautiful, so I can only imagine what the prom dresses for 2018 will look like. Other styles that are popular this spring include shift dresses, shirt dresses, maxi dresses, and swing dresses.

I’m totally into casual, sporty dresses from outdoorsy stores like Eddie Bauer or LL Bean. As an avid camper and hiker, a sporty dress packs well and is perfect for a walking tour or dinner out. Most important, they are super comfortable!
I can really relate to that previous comment. Not that i am an outdoors-man but I tend to wear sporty casual dress because they are super comfortable clothing.
