We all have our favorite childhood memories and traditions, and so many of these revolve around the holiday season. One of my favorite memories and traditions has always been decorating our Christmas tree and collecting decorative ornaments. My mom and I started collecting Hallmark ornaments about 20 years ago. My mom has always been a huge collector of everything from antiques to Barbie dolls.
Most of her Hallmark ornaments are either Barbie (especially Holiday Barbie and any retro Barbie) and she also loves anything with Mickey Mouse! In fact, I often get her a Hallmark ornament for Christmas, because I know she loves them, and it’s the best gift I can get for a collector who seems to have anything.
As for my own ornament collection, I have a huge variety! I have a lot of mouse ornaments, commemorative/keepsake ornaments, and I also buy a lot of character ornaments. (Basically any movie or show character I loved from my childhood is something I like to add to my collection).
Here’s a picture of my favorite collector (my mom!) and me!
This year the two of us can deck our halls with great Hallmark ornaments, or we can gift them to the ones we love!
Last year I visited Walmart purchased some Hallmark gift items for members of my family, and this year I was excited to find Hallmark Ornaments at Walmart. The ornament selections include 16 Walmart exclusives, resin and decor figurines, and fun popular character from Disney, DC Comics, Star Wars, Peanuts, Holiday Barbie, and more!
I found the Hallmark ornaments in the Christmas decoration section at my local Walmart. Some stores also have these located near the front of the store.
My store had a great selection of ornaments. I considered getting a Holiday Barbie for my mom, but she already has one for this year, so I picked up some Disney ornaments instead.
I got Micky Mouse, because he’s my mom’s favorite, and I got Minnie, because Mickey can’t be on the tree without his favorite girl!
I was going to give these to my mom, but I have a lot of mouse ornaments on my tree, so I’m actually thinking about keeping this pair and going back to get another pair for my mom.
And I got also a Cinderella ornament. I chose her, because Cinderella was one of the first VHS movies I ever got (lol), and she’s always been my favorite Disney Princess! (They also had cute ornaments from The Little Mermaid and Frozen!)
As it happened, they were still stocking the shelves when I was shopping for these, so I didn’t get any Peanuts ornaments, but I’ll definitely be going back to get a couple of those as well.
And of course, you can always buy lovely, fun, and sentimental Hallmark greeting cards at your local Walmart store!
Apart from ornaments, I, of course, have great memories of holiday eating and baking. When I was growing up, my mom would make several sweets and treats around Christmas time, and I still look forward to those today. One of these was her boiled cookies, also called drop cookies. You are probably familiar with the traditional recipe, which includes oatmeal, chocolate, and usually peanut butter.
Well, today I’ve taken that traditional favorite, and I’ve changed it up! I have some members of my family who aren’t big fans of chocolate. (I know it’s crazy. How could somebody not love chocolate, right?) So I’ve made these Peanut Butter Oatmeal Drop Cookies as an alternative for them, and I must say, the peanut butter lover in me is so happy I tried this!

Those cookies look delicious and I LOVE that you and your mom have a shared love of Hallmark ornaments. I’m thinking about starting a new tradition with my crew! <3 #client
Cute ornaments and yummy recipe. Oats and peanut butter is an interesting combination.
I have collected several of the ornaments since the first one. My grandson is 19 and he still gets the Lionel Train. Anything with peanut butter has got to be great. Thanks for the recipe.
Great to meet another collector Gilda, and that is so great that your grandson still get the Lionel Train. How fun!
The cookies look and sound delicious!
Hope you’ll try these, Cheryl. They are delicious!

It’s good to meet another collector, Laurie!
Our kids love Disney, so if I made the mistake of taki9ng them into Hallmark, they would probably talk me into all of them.
Looks great!
I just Hallmark Christmas ornaments! I buy one for my husband and son every year. I also love those cookies. I make those with cocoa added and they are always a special treat. Will have to try them like this though too.
I love the cocoa version too, Robin! But this is a great version for those who want more peanut butter!
The cookies sound delicious and easy to make! I love that they’re no-bake.
Hope you’ll try them, Stacey. They turned out delicious!
