Caramel Apple TWIX® Parfaits and Salted Caramel TWIX® Shakes

If you’ve ever uttered the phrase, “Two for me, none for you,”  then today’s post is definitely for you.    TWIX® Bites are a delicious, bite-sized version of the TWIX candy bar.  They come in a nice little pouch, making them a convenient snack for you to take along with you on car trips and outings.  TWIX Bites also happen to make a fabulous ingredient for your desserts..  I recently purchased TWIX Bites, along with a bag of Milky Way Bites,  and I used them to make a couple of cool treats, perfect for any hot summer day!

 TWIX® Bites and other MARS Bites like Milky Way® and Snickers® are  available in the candy aisle of your local Walmart.  Go by and pick up a bag or two (or a dozen) this week! And be sure to print out one the coupons at the end of this post, so that you can save some money!

But first, take a look at what I made using the TWIX Bites!  We begin with a round of Caramel Apple TWIX Parfaits!  These are absolutely fabulous, if I do say so myself

Recipe for Caramel Apple TWIX Parfaits:

Ingredients:

1/2 bag TWIX Bites
2-3 Granny Smith Apples (or your favorite apples)
1 (5.1 oz.) package French Vanilla Instant Pudding mix
1/2 cup milk
1 (16 oz.) tub whipped topping
1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping or caramel dip
1/2 box graham crackers

Directions:

Combine 1/2 cup milk and pudding mix in large bowl.  Mix with whisk until well-combined. (Will be very thick and grainy.)  Fold in whipped topping and mix until well combined.
Chop up apples in to to small pieces (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces).

Crush up graham crackers.

Chop TWIX Bites in to fourths.

In cups, bowls, or jars, layer your ingredients as follows: Graham Crackers on Bottom, following by pudding mixture, followed by caramel, followed by apples and TWIX. Repeat.  Finish off with a dollop of pudding mixture, covered with a little caramel, and topped with half a TWIX Bite.

Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Serving Note:  I was able to make 6 parfaits with this recipe, using glasses that are around 6 to 8 oz, and these were more than big enough.  If you have any dishes that are found 4 oz, that would be perfect.   You can also pour the ingredients up in to a large bowl and serve as a trifle.

 

And next we have some Salted Caramel TWIX Shakes.  I’m a milkshake-a-holic, so I just had to do a milkshake!

 Recipe for Salted Caramel TWIX Milkshake:

Ingredients:

1 cup milk
2-3 scoops vanilla ice cream
2-3 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping
6-10 TWIX Bites, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions: Blend all ingredients together. Pour in to a glass.

Garnish with whipped cream and additional caramel and TWIX Bites. (Optional.)
