Purex and Jockey Review and Giveaway

Photobucket

Today I’ve got a giveaway of not one but two great products!  They are from Purex Crystals and a Tech Terry Performance Sports Bra from Jockey.

Up till now I’d tried Purex detergent, but I had never tried their fabric softener, so I was really intrigued by this product.

Purex Crystals are a fabric softener that is 92% natural, and unlike other oil based fabric softeners, you actually pour it right in with the clothes at the start of the wash cycle.  Not only is it very convenient, but you also don’t have to worry about your favorite clothes getting ruined.

So why do Purex Crystals and the new sports bra from Jockey go hand in hand, you ask?  It’s because ordinarily you should not use fabric softener on performance sportswear because the oils prevent the wicking process, but becuase Purex Crystals do not contain oil, you can safely wash them with your sportswear and anything else you like!

And the Purex Crystals also come in three great scents: Lavender Blossom, Fresh Spring Water, and Tropical Splash.  (I received the Tropical Splash, and it smells wonderful!)

As for the sports bra, I chose the black one, and I was very pleased with the fit, comfort, and quality of it.

It is a moisture-wicking bra that will help keep you cool and dry.  It has a soft bottom band for comfortable support, breathable mesh panels, a convenient key pocket, reflective logo on the back.  It’s definitely a great value, and would be perfect for any workout enthusiest or for someone spend time in the great outdoors!

Get 20% off! If you’d like to get one of these awesome sports bras, Jockey is offering my readers 20% off! Fill out this form to receive your coupon code!

Easiest Peanut Butter Cookies

Photobucket

Today I’ve got one of my easiest desserts recipes to share with you!  I first learned to make these in the sixth grade when I was in the Future Homemakers Club (now known as Family Career and Community Leaders of America or FCCLA)

It became an instant favorite of mine, and I immediate went home and shared it with my family.  And it’s been fave easy-fix recipe of mine ever since! Ordinarily I make these around Christmas, but today with the red sprinkles on white chocolate they are a Valentine’s treat!

Photobucket

Recipe for Easiest Peanut Butter Cookies:

Ingredients:

1 package of crackers (Ritz or Town House)
1 package almond bark
peanut butter
spinkles (optional)

Directions: Spread peanut butter on to crackers and top with another cracker to make a sandwich.    Amount of peanut butter depends on your preference. I like a thick sandwich, so I’ll put a “glob” of peanut butter (or if you’d like a more technical term, I’d say a tablespoon full…more or less).

After you’ve made all your sandwiches, place almond bark in a microwave bowl and microwave in 15 second increments, stirring in between to prevent sticking. Then dip your sandwich cookies one at time. Retrieve them with a spoon, fork, or candy dipper if you have one.

Add the sprinkles immediately after dipping, as the almond bark will harden very quickly.

If you’re almond bark starts to harden in the bowl before you finished dipping the cookies, heat in in the microwave for an additional 15 seconds.

Place in a container on the counter. You can also store these in the refrigerator if you prefer or freeze them for later.

Purex Triple Action Review

Photobucket

I started buying a Purex products a couple of years ago.  I was first attracted to the brand when I noticed how much money I could save by purchasing it instead of other leading brands.  So last year when I learned about the Purex Insider program, I just had to become a member!

Purex is rolling out a new Triple Action  formula across the entire liquid detergent line. This new and improved Triple Action formula delivers even better on Purex’s promise to leave your clothes bright, white, and clean, and as always, for half the price of the leading brand!
The detergent is for all types of washing machines including high efficiency.  And it comes in different scents including Moutain Breeze, Lavender Fress, and After the Rain.  And they also have a Free & Clear version if you prefer something without the usual dyes and scents.
I really like this new product. The Moutain Breeze variety has a nice scent, and I love the innovations that are allowing us to use less and less detergent and still have fresh, clean results!
If you love Purex, or if you’ve never tried it and would like to, please come back next week to check a giveaway I’ll be hosting featuring another Purex product and something from Jockey!

Getting Organized: Spice Racks

Photobucket
A new year is the perfect time to get organized! At the start of the new year, I always like to reorganize my cabinets.  To get started, it helps to have organizers such as kitchen spice racks.

Photobucket

SpiceRackSource  has a variety of spice racks to fit everyone’s diverse organizing styles. I have a “lazy suzie”  style of spice rack like the one above. It holds a lot of spices without taking up a lot of room, and it rotates so that you can easily find everything your looking for without shuffling bottles and jars.

Photobucket

I also love this spice rack with pull out trays for all your spices. And unlike others that I’ve seen of this type, this one also has a pull out tray for measuring spoons and cups! Very convenient.

Photobucket
Finally I wanted to highlight this “ferris wheel” spice rack. I love this one for its rotating feature too, and I think I think it would be a great alternative to the lazy suzie style.
