Friday Favorites – Week 1

Photobucket

Hello everyone! Welcome to our first edition of Friday Favorites. I plan to host this event each Friday and I hope that it will help me to get to know my readers and create a more interactive site for everyone.
To join the party, just link up a favorite post from this week, and be sure to include a link to my blog somewhere in the post so that others can join the party.  For this event, I’ll also be featuring bloggers.  Each week I’ll pick about 5 ideas from participants and followers OR I’ll choose a single blogger to feature for the week.  So if you’d like to be featured for Friday Favorites, just link your posts up here, OR become a follower, OR be a regular commenter. (Or do all three!)

I’m fortunate to have a lot of people that come by for a visit and several that follow and comment on a regular basis, so it was difficult to decide what to do for this first Friday Favorites post, but finally I decided to feature a single blogger.  So without further ado, I’d like to introduce you all to Chaya!

chayacomfycookblog

Chaya is the creator of Chaya’s Comfy Cook Blog AND Sweet & Savory.  Chaya’s also a contributer at Our Krazy Kitchen, where they have recipes, tips, and fun foodie round-ups. Chaya is a loyal follower and commenter, and she’s a regular contributor to my monthly Sweet Thursday round-ups.  She’s also a great friend and an excellent blogger!

Chaya’s blogs chronicle her kitchen adventures, featuring tons of delicious and unique culinary creations. Chaya’s Comfy Cook Blog is dedicated to gluten-free recipes, while at Sweet & Savory pretty much anything goes.  To be honest, I never knew much about gluten-free food till I visited Chaya’s Comfy Cook blog, and her blog has definitely kept me open minded about it.  As you can imagine I’ve been most inspired by her gluten free desserts!  Chaya is a big fan of Nigella Lawson, Paula Deen, and Dorie Greenspan, and they’re recipes often serve as models for her gluten-free masterpieces.  Here’s just a couple of  yummy examples:

Chaya made these delicious looking Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Cookies adapted from a Nigella Lawson Recipe.

And these adorably cute little bundts were adapted from Paula Deen’s Basic 1-2-3-4 Cake.
And Chaya has so many other fabulous recipes from soups to sides to veggies, chicken, fish, and main dishes….pretty much anything you can think of: All Kosher and All Gluten Free!

So what about Chaya’s other blog? Why, I thought you’d never ask! Sweet & Savory has even more of Chaya’s delicious recipes.  The tagline says it all: “Over the years, my taste in food has changed, as have my recipes. This blog will chronicle the changes I continue to make, as I face challenges in healthier eating and in new methods of cooking.”

Well said! And from the looks of things, it’s turning out to be a fabulous journey.  I’m tempted to brag on Chaya’s recent chocolate chip cookie and brownie posts, but there’s so much more that I could mention, other than desserts.  One recipe I’d love to try is Chaya’s Moo Goo Gai Pan.  Looks delicious, huh?

And here’s one of her many pasta dishes: Quick & Easy Pasta. Yum!

So if you are looking for some new recipes to try, I recommend heading over to Chaya’s blogs!
