Hersheys Halloween Scarecrow Pudding Cups

Fall is such a fun time!  Each year I look forward to seeing all the fun decor in stores and online, and I love breaking out my own decorations!  Fall also brings a lot of great opportunity to make great snacks and treats, from football food to Halloween goodies!  Today I’m excited to share a fun tutorial on how to make Scarecrow Pudding Cups using Hershey’s Ready to Eat Pudding.

These pudding cups are a great treat that you can make and serve at your child’s Halloween party or other fall events.  And it is also a great activity that moms can do with kids, or elementary teachers can do with their students.  Just give everyone a pudding cup and a plate of ingredients, and then let them go crazy! Oreo Icebox Cake

Oreo Icebox Cake

Today I’m really excited to present this recipe featuring one of my favorite cookies: Oreos.  I got the idea for this Oreo Icebox Cake from this recipe for Chips Ahoy Icebox Cake by Spend with Pennies.  I made a few tweaks, including the use of pudding, and all in all, it made a pretty tasty (and super easy!) dessert.  Hope you like it! Ultimate Uncooked Southern Banana Pudding

Ultimate Uncooked Southern Banana Pudding

One of my favorite Southern Summer foods is banana pudding!  A while back I found this no bake version over at Secrets of a Southern Kitchen.  I was immediately attracted to this recipe because it includes a lot of my favorite ingredients like cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk! Yum!  She calls it Ultimate Uncooked Southern Banana Pudding, and I completely agree with the name.

And I have to say, it was everything I thought it would be and more! So yummy!  I’ll definitely make it again.  In fact, I’m thinking this will be a new “go-to” recipe for family get togethers and parties! Hope you will try it!

Orange Dream Parfaits

Since orange is the quintessential fall and Halloween color, it seemed like the perfect week for me to share these Orange Dream Parfaits.  Previously I’ve shared my Orange Dream Pie, one of my husband’s favorite desserts.  This is basically that same recipe in parfait form, and it’s super delicious!

Recipe for Orange Dream Parfaits:
Ingredients:
Nila Wafers or Graham Crackers
2/3 cup boiling water
1 pkg. (3 oz.) orange gelatin
1 package (8 oz) Cream Cheese
1 tub (16 oz) Whipped Topping
Directions:  Heat water to boiling. Pour into a bowl.  Add gelatin mix. Stir 2 minutes. until completely dissolved. Cool for 5 minutes.   Pour into blender. (You must use a blender.  A mixer will cause mixture to splatter.) Place softened cream cheese in blender, and blend well.  Pour into large bowl.  Slowly add  8 oz of whipped topping. (The other half of the container will be used to layer with in the parfaits). Blend well.
Crush half a box of Nilla wafers (or other cookies of your choice).  Layer cookies, orange mixture, and whipped topping into cups.  Garnish with additional cookies and serve.

French Vanilla Mousse

French Vanilla Mousse
With the theme of this week’s Sweet Thursday event being summer desserts, I decided to make something cool and creamy. This recipe was originally for chocolate mousse, but I decided to try it in vanilla first, because I just love vanilla during the summer time. It was also my idea to add Nila wafers as a garnish, and in my opinion they were a perfect choice!  This mousse was very yummy, very fluffy, and VERY sweet!
I think this would definitely be good using a number of flavors. (Chocolate is definitely at the top of my list to try next!)  And I also think this would be a great recipe to add bananas to, for a fluffy banana pudding, or you may even consider adding other fruits like strawberry (perhaps layered together with pound cake for a lovely trifle….yum!)
So anyway, in case you can’t tell, I definitely would recommend this recipe to you, not just because it was so delicious, but also because there’s so much you can do with it!
