Creating a Stylized Outdoor Space – Part 2 #Digin

Stylized Outdoor SpaceThis is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Home Depot.

It’s time to #digin to part 2 of our series on Creating a Stylized Outdoor Space!  This week we will be talking about the things that people should take into account when determining what furniture best fits their lifestyle, and we will talk about how and why different sets work better in different outdoor living spaces.

When buying outdoor furniture, there’s a lot to think about.  Obviously you should think about what kind of space you have.  Is the furniture for a deck? A gazebo? The yard?  You should also think about what kind of environment the furniture will be in.  Will it be exposed to rain or covered?  What kind of sun exposure will it have? And of course, you want to think about what you will be using the space for. Caramel Drizzle Freezer Pie

caramel drizzle freezer pie

I’m so excited to share this week’s recipe with you!  I saw this Caramel Drizzle Freezer Pie on Pinterest a few weeks ago, and I could hardly wait to make it!  The recipe comes from All Recipes, a great source for any cook or baker, and I just know you’re going to love it!

This is the perfect pie for summer time because it’s very sweet and it’s also served cold.  But I, for one, think it is the perfect pie for any time of year.  I’m actually looking quite forward to making it for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season.  And as if the taste of this pie wasn’t a good enough reason to make it, it’s also super easy to make, and the recipe yields 2 pies, so it’s perfect for parties and pot lucks.

Homemade Shaved Ice & My New NINJA

One of my favorite things about summer is that I get to have shaved ice and snow cones, but sometimes it’s hard to find a place to buy them.  And plus, when you love frozen treats the way I do, I hate that I can only get them in the summer. (Seriously you are reading the blog of someone who’s bought an ICEE when it’s snowing outside! And I confess, I’ve also bought an ICEE and a milkshake at the same time.  Yeah, I’m a little crazy!)

So enter the Ninja Kitchen System 1100, and the problem is solved. You can have a snow cone or shaved ice any day of the week…even when it’s snowing!

I’ve wanted the Ninja ever since I first saw it on tv, and finally I broke down a couple of weeks ago and ordered it off of Amazon. [Read more…]

Orange Dream Shake

dreamsicle

Who doesn’t love orange dreamsicles and push-up pops?  I know I love them, especially in the summer time!  A few years ago, I got hooked on Sonic’s Orange Cream Slush.  And since then, I’ve seen orange milkshakes popping up everywhere! But it’s much more affordable and convenient to make them at home, and it’s also super easy with this recipe!

Oh, and by the way, I also posted a similar recipe last summer. It involves a few more ingredients, but is equally good, and if you love orange, it’s definitely worth a look! Hope you enjoy!
