March’s Jewelry Showcase

At the beginning of the year I had planned to do a jewelry showcase on the first Wednesday of each month, but I had to do a little rearranging for March because I wanted to share my St. Patty’s wreath at the beginning of the month, and to be honest, I wanted to share new spring items this month, and I never got the chance to make them in February.  So here we are!
For this month’s showcase, I’m sharing my 3 newest pieces.  These are actually a set, but I’ve listed them separately in my shop.  Each piece features glass cat’s eye beads and pewter charms which are shaped like little branches with leaves and resemble bamboo.  And if you like earthy tones for spring, than you’ll love these!
Also, I just added a new coupon code for my readers.  Just enter: LOVESPRING15 at checkout to get 15% off your purchases!
I’m going to start today with the last piece that I made in the set- the earrings.  I actually had no intention of making earrings to match the necklace, but after I had the necklace and bracelet done, I thought I might as well use some of the charms I had left over to make some earrings. And I’m glad I did, because I actually kind of like the earrings the best!

I just started making earrings in this style, and I really love them.  I usually wear smaller earrings myself, so these are little bigger than what I’m used too without being too big or heavy, if you know what I mean.  And they dangle about an inch and half from the ear.

Next we have the bracelet.  I just love making bracelets, and after making the necklace, I simply had to make the matching bracelet.  It’s a little more simple than the necklace and earrings, but just as cute.  And it measures 7 inches in length, but I can add an extender chain to it for anyone that wants a bigger size, and I’ll add it free of charge.

And finally we have the necklace.  I was so thrilled with how this turned out.  The necklace measures 20 inches around and will go up to 22 inches with the extender change, and then the cluster of beads and charms in 3 inches long.
My only regret is that the photos just don’t do the piece justice.  I tried of variety of angles and positions, but I just wasn’t 100% happy with anything.  But hopefully people will see the beauty.  What do you think?

February’s Jewelry Showcase

I’m happy to report that every Valentine’s Day item that I featured last month has been sold, except for the Colors of My Heart Necklace (which is now on sale).  For this month’s jewelry showcase, I’m sharing some of  the Valentine’s Day items that I have left and a couple of my Pink & Chic items.
If anyone would like to place an order for Valentine’s Day, please note that it takes 3-4 days for items to arrive once they are shipped (not including any weather delays).  As such, if you want to order something for Valentine’s Day, you need to place the order by next Tuesday, in order for me to ship it out Wednesday, Feb 9th, for Valentine’s Day delivery.
Also, I’ve reduced the prices on my all my Valentine’s Day Bracelets featured here, and I’ve also placed all my Petite Earrings,  jewelry sets, and some other items on sale. So please check out my shop for details.
Hope you enjoy this month’s showcase!

Thanks for looking!  I’m linking up this week to these parties.

January’s Jewelry Showcase

Photobucket

As one year ends and another begins, I always find myself coming up with new goals that I want to achieve and tasks that I want to take on in blogging and other areas in my life.  One thing that I want to do this year is come up with new ways to promote the jewelry that I make.
The etsy shop always takes a back seat to the work I do for Simply Sweet Home and other things that I have to take on in “real life,” so for this year, I’ve decided that I’m going to regularly promote the shop on this blog with a monthly showcase.
This January I’m adding some items for winter and Valentine’s Day.  I still have several to add, but here are a few things that I already have for sale.
Also, I’m still offering a 15% savings for my readers in honor of the New Year.  Just enter the coupon code “HAPPYNEWYEAR” at checkout.  This code will be up through Jan 21st, so please take advantage of it while you can!
I call this beauty Colors of My Heart.  It started out as a bracelet and I decided to make it into a necklace instead.  But I can easily make it back into a bracelet for anyone that prefers that.

This is my first time to make a necklace in this style, and I’m very proud of how it turned out.  Hopefully I can make a lot more necklaces this year!
I think this is the quintessential Valentine’s bracelet.  It’s called the Dangle My Heart Bracelet.  It offers a lot of elegance and is perfect for people that love silver jewelry.  And the 3 red charms offer just enough contrast and give it a fun Valentine’s Day feel.

This is my Valentine Red Heart Bracelet.  This one is actually in the typical style which I would buy or make for myself.  I love bracelets that feature one solid color surrounded by silver and just a few charms so that it’s kind of simple but very cute and perfect to wear with dress clothes.

This is one of my winter items.  This is my Black & Pewter Elegance Bracelet.  I actually made a bracelet like this for my mom.  It’s right up her alley because she wears black and silver jewelry all the time, and she seemed to really like it.  There’s also a matching pair of earrings in the shop.

If you have an etsy shop and you’d like to discuss exchanging buttons or working out some other type of cross-promotion, please contact me!
I’m linking up at these parties.

Simply Sweet Creations Jewelry Giveaway

Since opening my shop this year, I’ve done very little to promote it, but since the holidays are coming up I’ve decided to do some blog promotions.  And it just so happened that Staci over at Just Sew Sassy was looking for sponsors to celebrate her half year of blogging, so I’m happy to announce that I’m sponsoring my first jewelry giveaway over at her blog this week!

For the prize, I’ve giving away a pair of my Petite Earrings.  These are made with surgical steel earwire and findings, which makes them perfect for sensitive ears, and they feature Czech Glass beads with a lovely sparkle.  The winner will get to choose the color of the pair they recieve.  The colors I currently offer are as follows:

  • Black
  • Clear
  • Red
  • Green
  • Olive Green
  • Blue
  • Blue-Violet (Purple)
  • Cobalt Blue

If you’d like to enter the giveaway, please head on over to Staci’s blog.  The giveaway will be open through next Thursday, Nov 4.  And if you are a twitter or facebook follower of mine, you can also get extra giveaway entries!
Thanks so much to Staci for having me over at her blog.  And as I said, I am actually considering doing a couple of promotions for the holiday season, so if you have a blog, and you’d like me to sponsor a giveaway, please send me a email.  My advertising budget is very small right now, so I have to be very selective of the promotions I do, but I’d be willing to give any and all blogs a look, at the very least.

Book Page Initial Wreath

Looking for a personalized Christmas gift?  Or something personalized for your own home?  How about a fun book page intial wreath!
I’ve absolutely loved looking at all the book page projects out in the blogosphere.  While my husband was out of town a few weeks ago, I finally got around to making one of my own.  For this design I was inspired specifically over the summer by someone who created a wreath using an embroidery hoop, except theirs had a fleur de lis in the center.  (If this was you, please comment or email me so that I can include a link to your project!)

Anyway, this was mostly made out of materials I had on hand at home. And it turned out so great that I’m planning a trip to craft store so I can make some more! My husband wants me to make one for his mother for Christmas, and I’m also planning to make something similar for my dad. He’s in the process of moving, and I think it would make a great Christmas and housewarming gift. And while I’m at at it, I’ll make one for my mom as well.
And I’ve also added the wreath to my shop and will take custom orders for anyone who’d like one for their home. For more information on this, including size, features, and pricing, just visit my shop.

For those of you who love to craft yourself, I’ll also be posting a tutorial for this very shortly. I’ll try to post it in the next few weeks when I have more time. It’s not a very difficult project to undertake. It was just kind of long and drawn out, and involved a lot of steps.  Till then, I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek!

I’m linking up at these fun craft and decor parties.

September Jewelry Special

Photobucket

I work on my etsy shop on a “very part time” basis.  I simply don’t have a lot of time or money to promote it, so I’ve decided the easiest thing to do is promote it here every now then. (And I’d be honored and thrilled if you would check it out!)
So today I’m posting about the September Special I just added.
This month all items in my shopped that are priced $5 and under are Buy One Get One Half Off OR Buy 2, Get One Free.
Right now the number of stock items in my shop is down, but I will be adding more this month. And some of them will be in the $5 range, so keep checking back!
I also relisted the Little Black Dress Bracelet. It’s just $10. And if you’d like to order it and the matching earrings, I will sell the earrings to you for just $2. (They are marked $5 in my shop.)
To take advantage of these deals, please only order the full priced items. (Do not add the discounted item to your cart!) Just make a note in the comments or send me a convo, letting me know which discounted item you would like. And I’ll take it from there!
If you’d like to check it out, here’s my SSC shop url:  http://jhrivers.etsy.com/
And if you like jewelry and handmade items, you can also follow me at my other blog Simply Sweet Creations.

Also, if you have a shop or blog that you’d like to promote here on Simply Sweet Home, I’d be happy  to work out a button swap!  Email me if you are interested!

Spring Earrings at Simply Sweet Creations

Today I’m showing off some of the latest earrings I’ve made.  I spend of lot of time doing Simply Sweet Home and doing all my husband’s bookkeeping and other office stuff for his business, leaving me very little time to craft, let alone try to run a “successful” craft/jewelry shop, but I’m trying. It’s definitely a work in progress and a crazy balancing act which I’m still trying to figure out.  Anyway, these are some of my latest earrings which will be on sale in my shop.  Some of them are already listed and others will be listed this week or next.  They’re all perfect for spring and I hope you’ll come by and take a look: http://jhrivers.etsy.com/

The first pair (above) are the Peachy Pearl Earrings.

These are the Creamy Dangle Earrings.

These are My Lucky Day Dangle Earrings.

These are the Pretty Princess Earrings.

These are the Spring Butterfly Earrings.
These are the Petite Blue Earrings.
