Friday Favorites – Week 19

Photobucket

I’m excited to report that we had the most link ups yet at last week’s party, a total of 46! Thanks everyone for sharing your posts here!  I guess you could call this week’s post the 4th of July edition of Friday Favorites, but personally I’d try these ideas any time of year!
And if you’re looking for some more ideas for the holiday weekend check out my 4th of July Links post for printables, worksheets, crafts, and more. I also posted some Kid’s 4th of July Fashion earlier this week, and tomorrow I’m posting some links and ideas for older kids and the whole family.  I also promised a giveaway for this week, however, I’m going to have to postpone this until next week. So stay tuned!
Now let’s check out our featured posts.  If you’re featured, please take a “featured” button for your blog!

Cupcake anyone? I’m sure these hamburger cupcakes and “fries” would be a big hit any back yard barbecue! Find out how to make these at There Was a Bright Flash of Light.

I just love this 4th of July tin can craft from Marvelously Messy. Go check out her other designs and get the tutorial.

Don’t these look good?  I was very surprised to find out what’s in these Vegetarian Barbecue Bites from Angie’s Healthy Living Blog.  I’m definitely gonna have to give these a try!

Here’s a great activty for kids that doubles as a piece of decor.  This conversation jar idea from Just Sew Sassy can help you and your family to learn and discuss patriotic holidays and our history.
Yum! I love new takes on old favorites! You can learn how to make these S’mores on a Stick at Melanies Crafts.

I’m very excited to try this recipe!  These are homemade Three Musketeers from Let’s Dish. Be still, my beating heart!

Another week gone by!  It’s time once again to highlight your posts from last week!
If you’re featured this week, please take my “featured” button for your blog.  And if you’re new here, I invite you to link up your favorite post(s) of the week with us!
I also have one quick announcement.  Next week, I’ll be having sort of a mini-series for 4th of July. I’ll be featuring some learning activities and other stuff for kids.  And I’ll also be posting a summer time themed giveaway.

I don’t sew, largely because I don’t have the patience it takes, so I was happy to find his project.  This is a No Sew Purse from Craft Envy. Cute!
Last week Amanda shared a cute ladybug hat with us, and this week we have this Frog Baseball Hat from Crafts by Amanda. I just love the big eyes!
This recipe is definitely calling my name, as it brings together not two but three of my favorite flavors! Find out how to make this Peanut Butter Cheesecake Brownies at One Crazy Cookie.
I’m always looking for new ideas for wall art. I just love this Floating Frame idea by Jan Dee Crafts.
Here’s a fun idea for the kids.  Learn how to make these Fabric Mailboxes at Twelve Crafts Till Christmas. And as if this wasn’t cute enough, she even made fabric stationary and fabric envelopes to go with these.
I’d love for you to be a part of Friday Favorites! Please link up your posts below!

Friday Favorites – Week 17

Photobucket

Welcome to another edition of Friday Favorites.  If you’re new to my blog, I invite you to join the party by linking up your favorite post(s) for the week! Before we get the party started, I have a couple of announcements to make.  First off, I’d like to remind you that the Sweet Thursday Pie & Cake event will be posted next Wednesday night! I already have several yummy treats to share with you, and I invite you all to stop by and link up your own recipes.  Also, if you’d like to be featured in the post, you have until Tuesday to email your submission in.
Also, please check out my current giveaways. I’m running my $30 Kroger gift card giveaway a little longer than usual because it’s for a good cause.  So there’s still plenty of time to get lots of entries for tweeting and so forth.
I’m also giving away a spool of craft ribbon.  This giveaway ends next week, and as of this writing, there’s only about 30 entries, so there’s a good chance of winning!  Also, I launched a new Canvas Print Giveaway.  We gave one of these away back in April, and there were a ton of entries.  So if you entered last time and didn’t win, you should definitely try again!
And last but not least, I will be guest posting on Sunday for the Cupcake Carnival at Attempting Creative, so stop by over there and say hi!
Okay!  I think that’s everything!  Now it’s party time!  If you’re blog is featured, please grab my “featured” button for your blog.  Thanks!

I just love Toy Story! So glad they finally made another one! Check out these Toy Story Activites from Something About Katie.

Lemon Pie is one of my childhood favorites.  Needless to say, I’m finding this Pink Lemonade Pie from Pumpkin Tart very tempting!

I love all the owl stuff that’s out right now.  The little owls are so cute, including this Owl Purse frm Something About Katie.
Another lemon recipe to tempt me!  This Lemon Freeze came to us from Recipe Corner.

If you’re looking for a unique way to give money as a gift, take a look at this Money Box tutorial with printables from Pittypat Paperie.
I can’t wait to see you’re posts for this week!  To help me promote this event, please include a link to my blog somewhere in your post or in your sidebar.  I really appreciate it!  Thanks so much for linking up with me!

Friday Favorites – Week 16

Photobucket

It’s week 16 of Friday Favorites!  This week I have a couple of fun craft tutorials and some sweet summer treats to share with you.  Hope you enjoy them!
Don’t forget that you can get an extra entry in all my giveaways just for linking up!  I have a few posted this week, including a $30 Kroger giftcard! You can find links to all my giveaways at the top of the blog.
Also, if anyone’s interested in guest posting on Simply Sweet Home, please send me an email.  Sometimes I have things going on that keep me from posting as much as I’d like, and it would be great to fill the void with a guest post every now and then. I had planned on doing a special post about this, but I thought I’d let my Friday participants have the first chance to volunteer.
Now on with the party! If you’re featured this week, please grab my “featured” button!

If you’re looking for ideas for a healthy treat this summer, you could try this Strawberry Granola Parfait fromWith a Grateful Prayer and a Thankful Heart.
I just love this Kid’s Art Folder from Just Sew Sassy. Go check out the great tutorial!
Here’s a cute summer cupcake idea! Heather from Twin Dragonfly Designs made these Pink Lemonade Cupcakes.  Yum!

I’ve seen some lovely individual silhouette wall hangings and even pillows in the last few months. Now here’s a project for the whole family (literally). This Silhouette Art idea is from Cannary Family.

And another yummy treat for the summer! Learn how to make your own watermelon cookies at Amanda’s Cooking.

Join the party by linking up your post below! Please leave a link to your actual post rather than your blog so that we can easily find your post. And please help me advertise this event by including a link to my blog in your posts. Thanks for stopping in this week!

Friday Favorites – Week 15

Photobucket

Greetings! And thanks for stopping in for Friday Favorites!  This week I’m changing it up a little and featuring some of our cupcakes from last week’s Sweet Thursday event.  And then next week’s Friday Favorites post will include posts linked up from last week’s and this week’s FF event.  So if you linked up a post here last Friday, you may still see it here next week.
Also, for linking up this week, you are eligible for an extra entry in my Sense daily moisturizer giveaway and my Yoohoo & Friends giveaway

Now let’s check out this week’s featured posts!  If you’re featured, I welcome you to take my “featured” button for your blog.

I just love bees! (At least the bees found in baking and craft projects!)  Aren’t these the cutest?  These Lemon Honey Cupcakes are from glitter to gumdrops. (We also had some more equally delicious looking cupcakes linked up from here, so you’ll definitely want to go by and check them out)
I always get excited when I see the phrase “Tres Leches.”  These yummy looking Tres Leches Cupcakes came to us from Little Bit of Everything.
Wouldn’t you love to have these cupcakes at your picnics this summer?  Liz from Hoosier Homemade linked up a post which included these and several of her most recent cupcakes.  If you haven’t been to Liz’s place, it is a must see! Each week she bakes up the cutest cupcakes, and she also hosts Cupcake Tuesday each week!
I finally tried pumpkin pie for the first time last year, and since then I’ve been interested in trying som new pumpkin recipes.  These yummy looking Pumpkin Cupcakes are from Full Circle.

Another cupcake I’d like to try!  We usually see these around St. Patrick’s Day, but when something looks as good as this, it seems silly to only eat them in March.  These Chocolate Guiness Cupcakes are from Siggy Spice.

Let’s get the party started!  Link up your favorite posts below!  Please link up your actual post (not your blog) and include a link back to my blog somewhere in your post.

Enjoy the party!
If you’re tired of baby dolls falling out of their blankets, you should check out this No Slip Baby Blanket tutorial from The Little Appleseed.  Isn’t this adorable?
The Moody Fashionista had a pink/green polka dot themed party.  Here’s one of her refreshment tables.  If you like party planning, you should definitely check out the rest of her post.  She has some great decor ideas (and even another great food table).  And all the photos are just fabulous!

I loved the blues and greens used in this Rose Topiary from Life in My PJs. I would love to make one of these for our house!

This Live, Laugh, Love sign is also from Life in my PJs.  Isn’t it cute?  It also happens to be a fairly easy and very affordable project! (My favorite kind!)

This photo comes from a fabulous home tour at Remodelaholic.  It’s actually a guest post from The DIY Show Off.  The whole tour was great but I especially loved this monogrammed mirror and the decorated table and baskets here.  Very nice!
Another home tour! Inspired Interiors features beautiful tours each week.  A couple of week’s ago this 18th century French Chateau was linked up.  I was just amazed by the photos of this place, and I told my husband that I thought I had found his dream home!
I can’t wait to see what you’ve been blogging about this week.  Link up your post below! Please enter the direct link to your post, and don’t forget to include a link back to my blog! Thanks!

Friday Favorites – Week 13

Photobucket

Hi everyone! Hope you all enjoy your Friday!  And thanks for coming by once again to link up your posts!
By the way, next week, in addition to linking up for our Friday Friday event, you can also come by for my Sweet Thursday Dessert event.  The theme for the event this month is cupcakes & muffins, and I’d love for you to come join the party and share your posts with us. (Linky will be up on Wednesday night. Current and older posts are welcome!)
Also, if you’re interested in winning some custom print brochures for your home or business ($60 value), the giveaway has less than 50 entries at this writing, and it ends next Tuesday, so this might be a good chance to get in and win a giveaway!
Now let’s take a look at this week’s featured posts!  If you’re post is featured, please grab my “featured” button for you blog.  (If you need assistance with this feel free to send me an email, and I’ll help you!)

Cinderella has always been one of my favorite fairy tails (and one of my favorite Disney movies!).  I just love these little carriages from Melanie’s Crafts. So adorable and just perfect!

I’ve always been fascinated by old ledgers and record books from farmers and shop keepers. (Yes, I’m that nerdy!)  And I was equally impressed by this modern day version at My Frugal Lifestyle.  With a garden journal you can keep up with things like brands of seeds that you use, planting times, fertilizer types, growing times, etc.  Very neat!
Here’s another confession.  As a kid I had a huge hair bow collection, which I just so happen to still own.  (They’re currently packed up in our outbuilding.)  And I had bow holders, but I didn’t have anything like this one at the Tremaine Story.  I think this is such a simple, yet very creative way to display hair bows.  And I’m sure these look really cute in kid’s room.

I don’t know about you, but around here it’s the perfect weather for strawberry cake, and this one from The Domestic Engineer Blogs looks super delicious!

And more cake!  I actually never had carrot cake until I got to be an adult.  I was on an airplane and they served carrot muffins.  (Maybe it’s just because I was starving, but I swear, that was the best muffin I’ve ever had!)  And shortly thereafter I decided to try some carrot cake, which was awesome!  And now I’m totally craving a piece of this carrot cake from Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice!

Linky time! Please link up below using the url of your actual post (not your blog), and please link back to Simply Sweet Home, so that others can come to the party! Thanks!

Please go by and give these talented ladies a shout and also go by and visit at least of few of this week’s linked up posts as well.  You are sure to find some great ideas here!
Also, for this week I have a new giveaway that you can get an extra entry for when you link up here.  This week it’s a Printed Brochure Giveaway.  This prize is a $60 value, and it would be great to have, especially if you’re a business owner, but it could also be used to promote your blog or promote your church or other organizations, or just if you’d like to pass out information in your community or wherever.
Now let’s check out this week’s posts.  If you’re blog is featured, please grab a “featured” button for you blog!  If you need help installing the button on your blog, feel free to email me or leave a comment and I’ll get back to you. Thanks!

I think these Sunflower Cupcakes at Mackenzies Crafty Mom are just the cutest!  What a great gift for your child’s favorite teacher! Love this!

You’ll be really surprised to learn how this cute and colorful bag from HEARTworks was made! Very creative!

I love this frugal wall art from The Phillips Fam.  And it’s a fairly easy project to complete too, which is always a plus!
I love sugar cookies! They’re one of my favorites! So I was really exicted when I came across these Sugar Cookies Bars at Me and My Pink Mixer.

Frenchy at le Chateau des fleurs has lots of cute creations and tutorials.  Here’s one of her latest necklaces.  So unique!

That’s it for this week.  Now it’s time to link up your posts! Please leave a link to your Direct Post, not your blog.  Also, please include my button or a mention of my blog so that others will know that you’re linking up here and can come participate too. Thanks!

Friday Favorites – Week 11

Photobucket

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a fabulous week.  I must report that ours went pretty well.  Last week they had Founder’s Week at my hubby’s work (basically anniversary week), and he met their projected sales goal.  This is awesome considering that he’s only been there a few months (not to mention that we really needed the money), and he’ll get an award too!  Also, hubby took his insurance liscensing exam this week, and he passed! Yay! (We celebrated by going to Applebee’s, one of our favorites places!)
Well, I hope you all have a glorious Mother’s Day weekend! If you’re still looking for Mother’s Day Gifts, please check out my Spring Gift Guide featuring fabulous shops and Mother’s Day gifts (all from handmade/mompreneur shops!).
And now let’s take a look at his week’s featured posts!  If you’re featured, please grab a “Featured” button for your blog! Thanks!!
Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE bread! Needless to say, I was very intrigued by this Everyday Oatmeal Bread from The Local Cook.

Here’s a fun idea for the yard!  Make your own elf houses! The kids will love it, and the yard will look so whimsical!  Marvelously Messy has as a great tutorial and some adorable examples for you.
As you know, I adore cupcakes! And I love these May Day cupcakes from Singing With Birds.  Aren’t they festive? And so fun and colorful too!

And here’s another sweet treat!  Wouldn’t you love a slice of this? This Berry Birthday Cake was baked up by Avril at Baking and Creating with Avril.  Scrumptious!

And finally, something cute that also makes the house smell good!  Krishinka at Krishinka’s Vintage Treasures has some adorable items in her shop! Her most recent blog post featured a few items, including this adorable heart sachet! Go by and check her stuff out!
Now it’s time to link up your post for this week.  Please link up to your POST URL, not your blog.  And please link back to Simply Sweet Home, so that others can come by and link up!
