I love frozen treats! It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, I’m always in the mood for ice cream!
I have so many memories from my childhood that involve frozen treats, including drinking Icees, buying ice cream from the ice cream truck, and drinking Coke Floats at Sonic with my best friend from highschool, Stephanie.
But one of my favorite frozen treat memories is going to the Dari-Delite, a local restaurant and ice cream place in my hometown. I always enjoyed going there, especially after school. Most of time I’d order a chocolate shake, but occasionally I’d order a banana sundae.
But my favorite memory of all is getting ice cream cones dipped in chocolate. These are so delicious! And in fact, I think I would have ordered these a lot more often, except they were just a little bit messy! Basically unless you can eat ice cream extremely fast, it will start to melt and leak out down the sides, especially on hot days!
I can remember my mom requesting a big pile of napkins. The ice cream would start to leak out, and I’d be scrambling to eat it fast, while catching melting ice cream with the napkins, and meanwhile my mom would try her best to keep the car on the road, as she’s reaching over with one hand to try and help me to not spill ice cream everywhere.
And finally we’d reach our destination, and she would say: “Next time we get ice cream cones, we have to eat inside the restaurant.” I think even to this day, I’m probably not allowed to eat dipped ice cream cones in my mom’s car. haha!
