Sometimes, just SOMETIMES, mind you, my kitchen is not absolutely pristine and clean. Sometimes all my counters look like the photo above (or much worse!). It usually happens after a lot of cooking takes place. After “slaving over a hot stove” my family finally gets to eat this most delicious meal I have prepared and maybe even indulge in one of my scrumptious desserts.
Afterward I am less than thrilled at the thought of cleaning, and I love nothing more than when my husband says, “leave that mess for later,” or better yet, “let me know help you clean up.” Either way….some time and somehow the cleaning has to be done, because I can’t STAND a dirty kitchen for long.
With the back to school season in full swing, germs are a huge concern for all moms. The truth is we can’t control what germs our son picks up at school, but I can work to make sure are home is as germ-free as possible. The kitchen is basically the nerve cell of the entire household. Everyone needs food for fuel, and that comes from the kitchen, so it’s important that our son eat his meals in a kitchen that isn’t covered in germs.
Clorox Disinfecting Wipes are great option for easy, yet effective one-step cleaning. They are available in five great scents: Citrus, Orange fusion, Fresh Scent, Lavender and Serene Clean.
I do a lot of shopping at Target. It is literally right around the corner from my house and is very convenient when I need to go out really fast and pick up a few items, and the cleaning section at Target has tons of great Clorox products like the Clorox Disinfectant Wipes.
Clorox Disinfecting wipes are found in a couple of different size containers. The containers can also be purchased individually, or you may find them sold in small group or bulk packaging. I generally find the variety packs are a better deal than the individual products. If you’re shopping at Target, you should also install the Cartwheel App on your Smart Phone. Right now you can use the app to save 5% of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.
I clean with Clorox Disinfecting Wipes for a variety of reasons. Here are just a few:
-They help you clean and disinfect at the same time.
-They kill 99% of germs. This includes viruses that cause colds and flu, and they also effective against common bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus (Staph), Salmonella enterica, and E. coli.
-They are a multipurpose product that can be used on a variety of surfaces. My favorite uses include cleaning appliances, countertops, stovetops, sinks, showers, toilets, and mirrors.
These product features definitely come in to play a lot in the kitchen. The first thing that comes to my mind in terms of kitchen germs is raw meat. I’m always making chicken, hamburger meat, and other items on my stove top, and we grill a lot too. I am always paranoid any time something raw is dropped on a surface or if I have to touch a surface after touching meat (even when I’ve washed my hands already).
Clorox Disinfecting Wipes give me piece of mind. When I wipe my stove, counter tops, and sink, I feel confident that my surfaces are truly clean, and I am free get cookin’!
If you’re like me and do a lot of cooking, from the time you wake up till the time you go to bed (and a couple of times in between), here are a few quick tips to keeping your kitchen clean as possible:
1. Put dishes in the dishwasher immediately, so they don’t stack up. (Don’t forget to rinse anything with stuck on food and liquid residues before putting the in the dishwasher.)
2. When you’re cooking or baking and you have a little “wait time” use this time to unload/load your dishwasher. (I find I can usually unload mine and get if halfway re-loaded by the time I’m done making dinner.)
3. Keep Clorox Disinfecting Wipes out on you counter for easy access and always keep them handy when you are cutting or preparing meat.
4. Always take care of counter spills and stove splatters as quickly as possible for easy cleaning.
5. If at all possible, try to clean your kitchen completely after dinner / before bedtime. (Nobody likes to wake up to a mess.) But if this isn’t possible, and if you’re a stay-at-home mom, an alternative may be cleaning in the morning after you’ve dropped off kids at school or during your little one’s nap time.
6. If you hate marathon cleaning sessions, try setting a timer and doing as much cleaning as you can in 5 minutes (or 10 or 15 minutes if you prefer.) Move fast, and you’ll be surprised at how much you can get done in 5 minutes!

Oh man…I really hate messy kitchens, too! These are great tips. I always use that cooking/baking time to run around and clean the kitchen up so there is less cleanup at the end of the day. Thanks for sharing! #client
