Summer Clean Up with Filtrete Filters

Disclosure: I was chosen to blog about Filtrete Filters as part of a Mom it Forward Campaign. The opinions are my own.

Are you working on any summer clean up or DIY projects?  Right now we’re in the process of doing some outside projects like, redecorating our porch and cleaning out our outbuilding.  But with the hot summer weather upon us, we’ll also be spending a lot of time indoors, and we will be using  Filtrete Filters to ensure good air quality.

What makes Filtrete Filters better than the competition?

The Filtrete Odor Reduction filter contains activated carbon and starts working in minutes to reduce odors throughout your home. In the case of tobacco and wood smoke, removing smoke particles can help reduce the odor, and high efficiency Filtrete Filters readily catire these particle types.

Filtrete Filters that are electrostatically charged have both positive and negative charges on the fibers. The charge helps pull more particles from the air passing through the filter than a filter without a charge.

Filtrete Filters

As a pet owner, I try to keep a clean house, sweeping a couple of times a week, using air fresheners, etc.  But I’m still amazed at the hair and dust that the Filtrete Filter picks up.   To ensure good air quality (and to reduce the cost of your heating and cooling bills) you should change out your filters every three months or more often if you have any of the following factors:

  • Construction work in progress
  • Furniture or drywall sanding in progress
  • Pets
  • Smokers
  • A fan running continuously

What else can you do to improve the air quality of your home?

  • Sweep and mop uncarpeted areas and vacuum carpeted areas regularly.
  • Wash and change out rugs regularly.
  • Get a carpet cleaner and clean your carpets once or twice a year.
  • Dust furniture, ceiling fans, and light fixtures as needed.
  • Let the house air out by opening windows and doors.
  • Run air purifiers, humidifiers and dehumidifiers as needed.
